It was my birthday yesterday. An interesting day for a variety of reasons, one being that I got informed by my GP that I have a fracture in my ankle. I had a rather nasty accident about 7 years ago when I drove off a 10-15m cliff.
My ankle is usually ok but from time to time gets painful so I mentioned it to my GP when I was getting a typhoid vaccination for my India trip. She said it was almost certainly ligament damage but I had to have an X-ray before they would scan it.

Another reason for 'interesting' is that the management at work have called a general staff meeting. We are expecting redundancies to be announced. I think my department will be ok but you can never be too sure.

Well, well, well!

I came out of the dentist to discover I have a new Grandchild, that's four now and they are all girls! :) :) :)

It's strange how some families seem to be heavily blessed with daughters. I have 2 mates who are surrounded by daughters and grand-daughters - the wife of 1 of them is one of 5 sisters and 4 of them have loads of daughters and only 2 sons and they only have grand-daughters.

Anyway, congratulations on the addition to the Woody family - I hope mother and chick are faring well!

Nice one Grandad! My brother has 3 daughters under the age of 10 and swears blind that when they turn 12 they'll be under lock and key till they're 30 <laugh>

Morning all from a wet & windy West West London...thanks in advance for the frothy.

Mrs W_Y suggested Lydia as a possible name for the little W_Y she was carrying - until I started singing the "Lydia The Tattooed Lady" song made famous by the Marx Bros (and then Kermit)...she went off the idea!

Dropped Little Miss W_Y at station this morning, on her way to cover the glamour FA Cup tie at Preston!

Blimey Lap Dog, on here again all day....

Morning dave .. morning hornets ... remember a few 'Lydia's' when I was a very young lad ... tended to be elder sisters of my primary school mates (2 in fact)...

Lydia is a nice name but like some others people can spoil them - my sister wanted to call her son Mark until someone said they always think of a dirty mark - for me Lydia was associated with Lydia Dustbin.

My fourth grandchild - came in the order girl, girl boy, girl is called Sylvia and I cannot help asking my daughter who is Sylvia and Where is she? She is not very amused I think but puts it down to my senility

You can never play it entirely safe Harry. I have the same name as a high profile footballer and constantly get abuse for it. Being 20 years older than said player I cannot really blame my parents!
