Probably get slated by some but here goes.

Some,nay many love them but me,Christ I wish they would sell up and just go.
Poor decision after poor decision as yet again made our club a laughing stock.

Hamilton
Worthy (ok got us up but didnt release as he was to nice)
Grant
Roeder
Gunn
Lambert(yes i know but we got lucky)
Hughton(didnt back or sack when they should have)

The one thing that really grips my ****ter is that barefaced lie that the board searched Europe high and low for a new manager and not a word uttered at the AGM. STINKS STINKS STINKS!!!

"But we are debt free" I hear you cry. I know but only because the Premiership threw so much money at us that we cleared our debts.
Ive said on here before that I am grateful to Delia for everything she has done for the club but unfortunately it has become her plaything I wish she would just grow out of.

I feel so sorry for Neil Adams.He was just doing what every City fan wants to do but he has been used as the proverbial pawn in a deceitful game of chess.
As for the new manager,if MP doesn't get that gig then I will eat my pants after a 13 hour shift.To be fair though I have not a clue who should get it.

Crowey I must admit I actually don't feel very strongly about the board at all. I know some can't stand while others love Delia. Most football boards are pretty annoying for supporters so for my part I usually think that while they're far from perfect at least they are not doing quite as much damage as many. I think they are at least trying within the limits of their abilities. Some of them have a penchant for saying really stupid things to fans though - not least the "scoured" phrase you refer to.


I will stand by McNally being a fantastic appointment though, long may he remain in place IMO irrespective of who owns Norwich. He's a professional, the problem with the others is that, for the most part, they (quite obviously) are not. Not sure changing ownership would necessarily help that, though obviously if some multi-billionaire suddenly oddly decides to invest in Norwich that would make a difference...
 
Phelan will get the gig & there aren't too many Billionaires out there wanting to buy football clubs now.
The best we could hope for is a Cardiff Leicester type Malaysian consortium and I think i would rather have The couple at the old Folks home for now .

And that my friend is where your point starts and finishes. Coventry were a very similar Club to ours with a Club focused Board of local people who had stabilised the Club, owned their own ground and provided solid success on the field. But the good old fans wanted more. Along comes somebody promising investment in players and the building of a better ground. Under pressure from the instant success hunting fans the Board sold out. The new owners built a new ground, sold the old ground in the City centre for a fortune and the player investment never happened. All of a sudden the fans woke up and realised that the owners, not the Club, owned the new ground and were charging the Club rent and had pocketed the sale proceeds of the new ground, Coventry ended up struggling to even keep in Div 1 whilst playing at Northampton. I'm sure any asset stripper would love to get his hands on our Club so be careful what you wish for. If there is some wealthy billionaire out there who does wish to buy a Club for the right reasons I am sure that we are way down the list of targets behind the likes of Everton, Villa, Leeds, Rangers etc etc.

The only thing that makes me think MP won't get the job is Mick Dennis. I knew he was a City fan but didn't realise how well connected he was to our Board. Yesterday he gave the biggest hint he could that a quick appointment would be made and that it won't be Mike Phelan.
 
Some interesting points raised and whilst I agree that McNally has done wonders for turning around the club's fortunes, he and the rest of the board seem CLUELESS as to who would make a god manager. I agree with the OP that we got lucky with Lambert in that he was the right man at the right time, but I wouldn't want him back. I also think that the board was being 'economical with the truth' when they 'claimed' that they searched Europe high and low for a new manager - REALLY????

I've no idea who I would like to take over at CR, but I just hope it isn't Mike Phelan or Neil Warmock - so knowing my luck it probably will be Neil. I just hope we don't have to wait too long to find out!! <ok>
 
Frankly the way that our club is run now is superb from a financial and operational standpoint.

The insistence of judging how well the club is run based on a decision that the have to make once every 18 months or so is mad. If managers were sacked everytime someone called for it on Twitter there would be 10 sackings a week.
These people are not sitting around only ever making a decision about whether to fire the manager.

I wrote a thread on this yesterday but decided not to post it because I'm fed up with moaning about them, it was almost identical but I will elaborate further from what I looked into.

We have had 10 managers in the 16 years of Delia.

Of those 10, Lambert and Worthington had nine years between them

This leaves 8 managers within 7 years, by the way it does not include temporary managers.

40% of her managers Gunn, Grant, Adams and Hamilton have averaged about 75% of a season. It is a staggering failure rate over such a long period of time and shows a repeated pattern of lessons not being learned. Two of which are in the bottom eight for win rates (Adams is suprisingly in the top 10).

Our general success have mostly been born from a very select few, Lambert, Huckerby and McNally. If it hadn't of been for them we would probably not be around and they have truly saved Delias bacon over the years when she has cocked up on such massive scales.

Thats a very good example to pick, how many clubs have also been asset stripped in the same way.

On the other hand how many very rich owners have brought sucess to there clubs.

Bournemouth, Chelsea, Man City, Southampton, Leicester, Hull, Cardiff, QPR, Middlesborough, Blackburn, Fulham, Wigan, Liverpool, West Ham, Newcastle, Stoke, Brighton, Reading all have had success relative to where they were before being taken over.

In addition Villa have had millions of Randy Lerners money and he will likely lose most of it when he sells.

Other clubs who ended in the ****, Leeds spent money without a big investor, Birmingham very similar but as I'm aware neither were asset stripped to sell, Ipswich also are in deep financial trouble but remain backed by there owner.

You have Arsenal kept running as a profit maker but thats hardly asset stripping, as are Man Utd.

Why is it the supporters of this club continue to see big investment as they do when historically the successful clubs have had it. People here are so scared to be successful. I'd love to be a club everyone hates because we are filthy rich, arrogant, successful and don't take any **** of others.

It is just a myth that foreign investment or big investment is this terrible behemoth ruining the game, its fantastic because smaller clubs get to compete against the bigger boys.
