Lardi, well you are still a fan <ok> …. what you are saying is that you are no longer a supporter … well you are still a supporter because you have a season ticket <ok> but you know what I mean :)

Perhaps I should have said "Not actually being an active fan anymore".
I'm taking a sabbatical, until Roland has buggered off.

If he isn't gone by August next year he can whistle for his ST money.
CAFC isn't big enough for the both of us.

Does the club have any say at all in the TV moving the fixtures? I assumed they signed a contract, which was probably obligatory, and TV then chose games as and when.
I agree 100% that it is daft to change the dates like this. Given the cheaper deals on the rail network if you buy in advance, a lot of fans must be getting regularly stuffed as these games change date when they have paid for travel arrangements. Generally most hotels can be cancelled free with a months notice, so I can't see that as a huge problem, but overall, there is no interest at all, or even recognition from Sky that a lot of people supporting clubs are being badly let down. I can't see any point in blaming the club though.

You really must stop all these informed intelligent posts Ken. Not the Clubs fault. If you want to blame anybody @lardiman it should be Sky.

Everyone knows that Sky doesn't care about football fans who go to matches. Why should they.

I also acknowledge that even with a new owner, CAFC is highly likely to carry on changing its match schedules as much as it can to accommodate TV.
When that happens on a new owner's watch then that owner will be responsible.
Right now it's Roland's Club, so the inconvenience caused to Charlton fans is Roland's fault.

But of course Duchatelet is trying so very very hard to sell the club<laugh>

We’ve been fvcked by Sky Sports, again.

:headbang:

The away games at Derby and Swansea have been moved to midweek in December for live TV.

I’m going to both, which means a hotel & overnight stay. Each game will cost me £200 plus as a result.

No consideration for away fans.
Someones got the week off work

Not just sky , but the fixtures are b@llocks anyway.
We play over 8 months next month we have millwall and luton away 2 fixtures within easy reach.
February we have notts forest midweek then stoke on the Saturday.
Then 2 weeks later Sheff Wednesday midweek then Huddersfield on the saturday.
Why cant they even the fixtures out.
Sky changing 2 of our games in a few days of each other.

Talking to other Charlton fans on the train home yesterday and everyone was in agreement - how good and exciting has this season been so far, particularly away from home <applause>. It’s what is all about. Visiting decent stadiums with a sizeable away following and watching a passionate and committed group of Charlton players. It’s a light year away from the travails under Slade and Robinson in League 1.
From the sweltering heat on the opening day at Blackburn, when we first saw how good Conor was, to the gritty comeback at Barnsley, to the sell out at Reading, to the fight back at Fulham, and then yesterday’s dirty thriller at West Brom, it seems like every away day is a cracker at moment. And it’s our favourite trip - to Millwall - next <laugh>

One thing that stuck in my mind was Bowyer’s comment - that when he was a player at Charlton there was a mutual respect between the players and the fans, and that that had been lost when he came back under Robinson.

That mutual respect has now returned <cheers>

Changes to priority ticketing with Valley Gold
You may be aware that last season the football club brought in a new loyalty points system. In the light of this the Valley Gold committee has decided to change the upfront payment due before you qualify for priority tickets and the £15 discount off your season ticket. For 30 years it has been £30 but as from 1st November 2019 it will be raised to £60. This change will not be applied retrospectively so will only affect members joining or re-joining from 1st November 2019.

Thank you

Matt Baker

Valley Gold Chairman
