Charlton have just announced that tickets for the October away games at Bristol City (1,000) and West Brom (1,600) will go on general sale on Wednesday morning. Is this change in policy in response to the widespread condemnation of their pathetic loyalty points / Valley Gold bribe scheme ? The U Turn seems odd, albeit welcome. Bristol City is a midweek game, so demand is unlikely to be an issue, but I think we will take 1,600 to West Brom on a Saturday.
We'll sell out West Brom, cheap to get to, and a new ground for a lot of people. They are clueless in the ticket office, full stop.
Not played at the Hawthorns for 11 years, so for our younger element of away supporter's this will be one to get ticked off. Always taken good numbers to the Albion in the past, so to put a 1600 allocation straight on general sale is strange to say the least. If anyone wants to go be on your toes this Wednesday morning
My memory isn’t what it was but .. Does anyone remember a cup tie at the Hawthorns in the late 80s ? It was p1ssing down with rain ...Mike Salmon was like a fish out of water in goal, when a shot that was going wide deflected in off a puddle. We lost ?
I don't think it's a u turn. For the next 2 months boro away the travel for the away games will be quite cheap. Fulham Bristol city W Brom Millwall And Luton Quite a few won't bother with Bristol city although I still think we will take 800 down there. That leaves 3 weeks from Fulham to West Brom these away games are not so hard hitting. Ie with Barnsley and blackburn 2 weeks apart a lot would of done one or the other. Someone has said though we might top up with 2400 tickets
Badly. Assuming we get around 2,300 for Millwall, I hope they put them on general sale with the usual ‘prove your ID’ strings attached. It’s mainly the anorak wearing Bovril guzzlers amongst our fanbase that have 800 VG points, and Millwall away tends to be one that they avoid.
