When we were in the PL and had 12 fit players we considered it a pretty concerning state of affairs. Their owner said their club wouldn't survive if the season didn't resume, seems quite concerning.
Others would say we aren't in crisis because we don't have a ridiculous wage bill so the club's existence isn't under threat.
It's just as well the season has resumed then but who has said we aren't in crisis? I'd rather be in Burnleys shoes than ours,wouldn't you?
It isn't a competition, I'm merely suggesting that the national attention for the plight of any club outside the Top 6 is pretty miniscule.
On the fit players, I think the difference there is the timing. Ours was at the start of the season, when there is no advantage, whereas Burnley's has come at a time where they are pretty much safe.
In general terms the Allams achieved unrivaled success on the pitch when they surrounded themselves with people who knew how to coach and manage on field affairs. Important when by their own admission they nothing about football.
They have then managed to fall out with just about everyone important to the football club on the pitch and in doing so dismantle everything and anything that was good!
Ehab has done nothing but follow meaningless strategies, and cut costs in line with reducing revenue, just about anybody can do that, you don't need an ounce of business acumen to cut overheads, to do it whilst retaining a degree of ability to challenge at the right end of the table and return to the promised land, just further highlights he know's nothing about football, and reaffirms he is no business genius. The value of the club has fallen through the floor, and is continuing to fall. Value £50m laughable!! Whilst I don't want City to be taking any undue financial risks, at present it represents a slowly dying club, on it's knees, and heading for Division 1, with zero investment.
How the hell is Terry still in his job? Based on performances over the last 12 matches with what are now mainly his players, must be the worst record in the whole EFL. We know why Ehab is still in his job, jog on please Ehab. All the initial good work by your family has been completely undermined over the last 3-4 seasons. What could, and should have been a wonderful legacy by comparison to were we are today, shows just how far we have fallen, and unfortunately I fear we will fall further, I have no reason to think otherwise.
Also stacking up the debt on the SMC thereby placing that at the bottom of a big black hole should it all go tits up. They are putting the club back to where it was when the Allams took over
Yeah that's fair enough, though it'll be interesting to see how they cope over the off-season. But again, the point was more that national scrutiny on clubs is pretty lax unfortunately.
His man-management and motivational skills are **** too. He turns up and "sacks" 4 players before a vitally important match, must have really motivated the rest. Not!
Yeah I was gonna say this. It's another example of how the Allams have successfully made people believe their narrative. We weren't in League 1 when the Allams took over, and hadn't been for 5 years. We'd just come out of the Premier League and the debt was less than it is now. If they leave us in League 1 or even lower, with more debt than when they took over and nothing to show in terms of facilities/investment, then they've left us far worse off than when they got involved.
They owe the money to themselves. Unless someone is stupid enough to buy the club and the debt, the club will have no debt when sold.
They owe the money to themseves. Some small silver lining in all this? No revenue heavies kicking the door down, no other nasty bills or outgoings seemingly. Just the gift that they want back in the sale price.
Reading the other posts about Peter Grieves, it is possible he could have done a Glazer on us and borrowed massively on future prem earnings? That right here and now, we are fooked.
So we wait for the smart buyer, who can buy the club, can invest in the club, who has made a shed load of cash from astute business decisions. He ain't going to buy us, is he?
If...and it's a big if, we where for sale at a reasonable price, then we would be a potentially very good investment/buy
How? We have no playing squad and no fan base.
As long as we remain in the Football League, the golden share (right to play in the league) is always worth something. So the club is always worth something to someone. I assume when Allams can no longer asset strip, they will sell for what then can get rather than what they might like. Its our only remaining hope, rather than assassination.
