Meltdown alert.

I think he is still too raw for that kind of move.

Agreed, the second half of the season he was class, unplayable sometimes, but at the beginning he was pretty ****. Needs a full season playing well to be able to merit a big move.

Yeah this is my thinking, I said earlier in the Summer that I expected him to have a great season this year n then we'll lose him next. I'm not sure United will want to pay more than what Pedro was going for.

If only we still had Dani. I knew it was premature getting rid of him. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Seriously though just sit back and see what happens in the next 2 weeks. Stay calm and I'm sure all will be ok come September 2nd. As for January well that's a different story I think we should start panicking now.

Semi agree. If it were to happen it wouldn't be the fact he's gone in isolation that would concern me. It would be the fact that we are attempting to replace 4 or so first teamers for the 2nd Summer in a row. I have faith in the board and trust them completely (before anyone has a go or tells me to look at last season) but we can't do that every year, it's simply not sustainable. Not every transfer will work out (as we have learnt in the past).

Indeed, not every transfer does work out but it doesn't need to to be sustainable. Not everyone who came in last year worked yet we had a good season. If we're offered/think we can get an amount that's far in excess of our valuation of him I suspect we'll take it, provided we have someone lined up (and we've been assured that there's always a list ready to go, so it might be doable). I just wonder if we'd have time to replace given 12 days remaining.

It's all to do with the timing of theproposed transfer. Getting an adequate replacement this late on at a price and wage that suits our structure would be impossible. Even Elia has found a club by now. We'd probably be looking at paying over hte odds for a Matt Phillips type of player and I just feel that if Mane were to leave we wouldn't have enough quality to really trouble the top end of the league. You'd have to consider any new player settling into the system etc as well. That's my considered opinion and in no way a 'meltdown'. We may only finish mid table if Mane stays!

If he causes a fuss, that leaves us with little choice but all things being equal a big no from me, at any cost.

There'll be people on the black box list earmarked as replacements. And I don't mean Elia either. We'd have 30+m to play with if he went, so you'd be looking at a 10-15m replacement.

Now I do NOT want this to happen by any means, but it's not hugely surprising. The lad has quality, but as has been said, is probably still a little raw for the move.

I agree with a lot of that, but who would say out of last years signings didn't work out? From top of my head...

Bertrand - Success
Toby - Success
Pelle - Success (despite the questions over some aspects of his play, he scored 16 goals for us)
Tadic - Success - was out of form for half the season but think most are happy with him?
Long - Success
Mane - Success
Forster - Success

Can't think off the top of my head (not including Taider). I think it's highly unlikely we'll see that sort of success rate again in one window (with that many additions) Could be wrong of course but looking at it, we did well last year, really ****ing well. Could we do that every Summer?

I must state though that this is all hypothetical at the moment.

His "rawness" might increase the chances of selling him. If someone's prepared to pay panic money that priced him as the finished article, it'll be tempting to take it. And it looks very much like Man U are panicking; they do it well.

Crisis into opportunity. What's Charlie Austin's agent's number.

First of all, I had as as mid table anyway.

Secondly, we signed Toby at 11:55 on deadline day - you might be surprised at what can be done.

Do you really think Matt Phillips is the only player in the black box? Let's not panic yet, it's not happened and the club consider three of four people all the time. They even have replacements lined up for Ron.

Not sure anyones panicking? Well I can only speak for myself but I am certainly not panicking. I'm just speaking about how I would feel if this were to happen.
