Isn't easy but can be done. Why not wait and see what happens before worrying?

I'm not worrying :D I'm excited about what the future might hold and to see if we really can be the challenger at the top end of the table that people within the club say they want to be. I am just not getting my hopes up that it is likely to happen either.

Me neither.

Look, we could well struggle next season and I don't mind that as I am a believer that you need to experience things like the Europa disease to progress. What I can't buy right now is that Liverpool are all that. They had one season where they had one of the the top three strikers in the world on fire. To me, they are an ordinary team with one very good blip in four seasons.

If I'm a player with ambition, then it's the current top four or an exciting upstart that looks like it could do something. I may even have learned something from my old mates and what they did.

Liverpool right now arent all that, their squad is in need of a revamp, I think the manager is out of his depth tactically and whoever is in charge of transfers has ****ed up massively. But they still have the history, the money and the size to be an attractive proposition to most players in the world, including Saints players. As I said before if the option is there for Clyne to join an Arsenal/Chelsea/City/United and he chose Liverpool then, yes he is making a mistake, but I can't blame him for wanting to join them if it is a straight choice between us and them.

Saturday/Sunday is going to go like this: Saturday Arsenal win the cup we are overjoyed with making Europe and capping off a fine season then Sunday to top it off we announce Clynes new deal. Other scenario is Villa win the cup and we are all down in the dumps then Sunday Saints announce Clynes new deal to pick us up, win win ;)

I said all those things you said apart from the last bit (choosing Liverpool) and that's because the only thing of value is the money. What a shock. If you turn out discussion into an equation, the answer is money. Nothing else.

Being an attractive proposition to "most players in the world" isn't the same as being one for the best. We are an attraction fior most players, but not the best. They are not the force of attraction they once were, if you take money out of the equation. That's my point.

Here it is: if Clyne chooses to join this Liverpool, then yes, I very much blame him. You won't, so fair enough. I'll be mightily pissed with him.

If we got Europa league, and if we made a decent go of it, I would be very happy if we finished top 10 next year. You only have to look at clubs similar to us who played in the competition to see how it effects league form.
I don't buy that at all. It's turned into an excuse for managers and players to use when they lose after a EL match. Teams from other countries cope just fine I don't see why we couldn't cope if we increased the squad size.

If you really think the only difference between Saints and Liverpool is money and history then you are looking at it through incredibly Saints tinted glasses

Err, I think you're on the wrong board if you want a debate with people who don't look at it through Saints tinted glasses...
Why don't you try the Liverpool board, I'm sure they will all agree with you?
