I make it around £48 mil too on reported transer fee's, but if you then include all the other financial aspects like signing on fee's agent fees and alike it will definatley take it over £55m
When you put that against no real first teamers leaving, thats quite an expenditure. Only problem is we havent overly strengthened the defence which was really needed.

It's probably been calculated that the percentage chance of making a decent profit on defenders is lower than midfielders, thus the NUFC signing pattern.
