With a critical game against relegation rivals QPR coming up on Saturday I'm surprised that there has been no discussion of what starting line up Bruce will put out there.

Assuming Diame is ready to go I'd expect him to start with this.

McGregor
Dawson Bruce McShane
Elmo Livermore Huddlestone Diame Brady
N'Doye Jelavic

Harper Davies Robertson Meyler Quinn Ramirez Hernandez

I expect a 2-0 win even if they put Austin in their starting line up. Three points will take us up to 26 and up to 15th with Sunderland playing WBA. Thoughts?

Well that line up is really going for the jugular which is exactly what we should do.

I was feeling pretty good about this weekend until I saw Lawro forecasts a 2-0 win for City. I feel better when he forecasts a loss as he usually gets our result wrong. With any luck he will be wrong and we win by three or four!

Im hearing Diame has suffered a minor reoccurence of his knee injury.

If so, we should go with the team that beat Villa, but maybe swap Meyler for Quinn.

It would be crazy to change the team after the win against Villa. Same 11 to start for me.

Bruce never changes a winning team unless he needs to because of injuries or suspensions. It will be the same team that beat Villa, however I would drop Meyler for Quinn, simply for Quinn and Brady's team work on the left flank, at times in the Championship it was outstanding and if replicated can work well in the Premier League. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Greegsy
Elmo Bruce Dawson Macca Brady
Huddlestone Meyler
Ramirez
Jelavic N'Doye

Gonna go for 1-1.

My team:

McGregor
Dawson-Bruce-McShane
Elmo-Livers-Thudd-Quinn-Brady
N'Doye-Jelavic

But no doubt Bruce will start Meyler instead of Quinn. <doh>

Why the obsession with Quinn? He's a tidy player but he's not exactly a world beater is he, Meyler gives you something different he's a real battler and in the right type of game can be very handy, where as I don't really see what Quinn does to earn a place in the side.

Yeah what a ****ing idiot he would be to keep a player in the starting XI when we've just earned 4 points from 2 crucial games, including away at the champions when said player scored.....

Not an obsession, he deserves a place in the team ahead of Meyler. He gets around more, he very rarely gives the ball away unlike Meyler, he is vastly more creative than Meyler, and he doesn't run into opponents and gives away silly fouls every game. :emoticon-0148-yes:

He was terrible against Villa, better against Manchester City though I must admit. His goal was a tap in, I'd understand your point if he had beaten 5 men and chipped Joe Hart but he didn't..

We won against Villa.

It wasnt a tap in and he was in the right place at the right time.

If we drop Meyler tomorrow, play Quinn, get beat and Quinn has an average game everyone would ask - and they'd be right to do so - why did we change a team that had just taken a crucial 4 points out of 6 and when Meyler had scored?

It looks like Diame is out, but I don't think he'd have started him anyway.

It will be the same team as Villa.

I'd normally have started a team news thread yesterday, but there was no press conference for some reason.

I think we should start with the same team that started against Villa, I can see the Quinn in for Meyler as he gives more energy. However Meyler plays well, holds play up & gets more free kicks when shielding the ball & drops cleverly when the opposition come up behind him!
As long as Diame is fit, I think he'll just be on the bench ready to come on.

I have no idea who Steve and his team will select to start against QPR but I think that 99% of fans would expect an attacking formation. QPR are wide open and I would think that Elmo would have a field day but QPR know his ability and will attempt to cove him. I am hoping that N'Doye and Jelly are the beginning of a successful partnership and they have every chance to show what they can do against this team.

If you think that was a tap in then I think you should watch it again. It was at an angle with the keeper covering it and the ball came to him very quickly. He took it very well. Tap in my arse.
