I've heard something regarding the takeover delay, I have absolutely no idea how reliable this is but it makes sense when you consider other things that are going on. I heard that Bates is holding out on signing off on the takeover because he's starting to think he can get promotion this season, apparently he phoned Colin to say as much, but Colin told him in no uncertain terms that he doesn't think that's possible. That would also suggest that Colin's comments about having no money could be intended to put more pressure on Bates to sell up and would tie in with the indications that the delay is coming from Bates' end.

Do you mean colin doesnt think its possible because we need to spend more money on players, money that bates has not got or is unwilling to spend ??

I think so. I think Colin is trying to get it through Bates' skull that he needs resources he isn't going to get from old Ken, hence why he came out last night talking about how he wants to improve the squad but needs more money (LIKE FROM NEW OWNERS MAYBE KEN) to do so.

Exactly what I have been saying for over a week now mate. All the signs are there and building up...

Elland - I sense an about turn by Warnock on McCormack - This suggests no takeover pretty soon, no funding or a worse than expected problem with Becchio?
We now know Becchio's injury wasn't bad so was the u-turn because NW knew he wouldn't get the funds to plough back into the team?

Exactly and even I am having my doubts now. I read two weeks ago that the money had been transferred - Obviously it hadn't and now it is excuses about the mass tangled web of going through the Bates accounts. My snapping point was the new owners speaking to Snoddy to change his mind and Snoddy saying no. I think we forget that Snoddy still had a year of his contract left, we could have made him play it out.

The new owners could have said to Snoddy we will give you x amount and we have xyz players lined up or a fund pot of £xxx - They could have turned around to Bates and said sell Snoddy and the deal is dead, we need him, he is part of our future plans. Snoddy wasn't happy with what he heard, asked to leave and Harvey sanctioned it - Something very fishy going on IMHO

Does it not make you wonder about the takeover? Either it isn't happening for a while yet or when it does funds are not going to be great? Do the cheap and free signings we are making suggest that Warnock will have money to spend, would he still be making these signings if he had a few million on the way or even in the bank right now???

I don't doubt for a second it was in full swing and heading towards something exciting for Leeds fans - Far too much has gone on for it not to have been on the cards right down to the prospective new owners meeting with NW and speaking to Snoddy. However I fear something has gone wrong, maybe just stalling tactics by one of the parties, maybe the new buyers are having a problem raising funds or one of the backers have pulled out, I don't know what but something isn't quite right at the moment.

Reading between the lines and from Billy Is Gods comment it sounds like everything is in place and was in place a couple of weeks back when White signed his new contract. It is just a case of Bates signing on the dotted line, remember a while back the new company name that was registered, a standard procedure for when a business is being sold...

So two weeks or so on and we are still waiting on Bates - You have to ask why and it can only be one reason - Does he believe the wheeling and dealing and team building process so far carried out by NW is enough to get us promoted? If he believes it is HE WONT sell. It sounds to me like he is waiting to see how the finished squad looks, he might even be waiting to see how we perform against Wolves and Shrewsbury before making a decision, sell or not?

The main suspicion for me was Snoddy talking to the new prospective owners who tried to get him to stay and he refused. So what did these buyers say, did Snoddy see the writing on the wall? That was closely followed by the new company details registered over two weeks ago followed by a silence and now when Warnock says he wants the icing on the cake players he is told he has to sell first.

Just today on the Good Morning thread I said I was feeling quite pissed off about it all, I was hoping it was just me but now I also hear Bates is going to be writing programme notes - **** IT

I truly hope I am WRONG and that those who believe we will be challenging are right. I am actually quite pissed off about it all this morning. I can't see the T/O happening now, I fear Bates has had a change of heart.

NW told to sell before he can buy, add together the fee's received and the fee's paid including the Howson money and including funds recovered from the successful police bill estimated to be £1M. Then the wages he saved releasing players early, Parker, Bruce, O'dea, Mikka, Forrsell - It isn't great.

I sincerely hope Elland Road is left empty until takeover is finalised. This is probably the last chance to force the old bastard out. Fans need to be united and stay away until hes gon, and he needs to be told so

On the topic of Snoddy, he was a complete prick last night.

Falling over and shouting at the lino and ref all game, someone should have told him it was only a pre-season, or maybe that's the only part of his game that he works on. :bandit:

Just get some of the 'wall fans who spend their sad little lives on here to email him. He will keel over laughing at their sublime humour and intelligence. Either that or they will bore him to ****ing death!

Probably hung over <ok>

But seriously he was carrying a bit of attitude with him towards the end of his time here. I thought it was the arm band that was making him a bit more vocal. you got a good player there though and he is probably dying to impress as I bet Johnson & Howson had already sold him as a good player to the squad which maybe adding a bit of pressure.
