Do you actually know anything about Scots culture? You do realise Scots culture has heavily borrowed from the Irish, the Danes, the English, the French and myriad other cultures. Even bagpipes were borrowed from other cultures, yet they are now seen as intrinsically Scots. That's how a country, any country gains culture and tradition, by taking what they like and adapting it to suit, just like the Yanks have done.
