If you mean Azpilicueta then he was probably the best full back in the league last season, even though some stats said it was Debuchy, he looks way more solid.

Not trying to stir things up, but he had a very good game. I was concerned about him being good enough based on what everyone was saying. The kid can play. Set pieces are mint, great touch, stamina, good pace. I'm not calling him pirlo but if that performance was what he produces on a normal day then he should at least be on the england bench. You guys should really be blaming short for letting him go.

This is the point where you all look at the stat i posted. If Rodwell is england quality well then a full season like that for colback and he might help england out!

You mean a full season of not having a shot at goal, not creating a chance & standing watching while Newcastle concede goals.

Yes that's bound to get him a call up <laugh>

Oh dear me. The fact is, Colback will, for the most part be sitting on our subs bench. Based on that and that alone, there is no way he will make the England squad. Neither will Rodwell in my opinion. Huddlestone is a superior player to both (at this present time) and he doesn't get called up ffs!

Colback scores around 1 goal a season, Barry was prolific in comparison <laugh>

Colback has only scored 8 goals in his entire career.

Nee offence mate but I'll go off the 135 competitive games I've seen him play as supposed to your 1, especially as you think the lad has pace(pretty averge). I'll go off my own judgement thanks. He's a good squad player for a mid table club, decent starter for a lower table club with a little bit of room for some more development. Not fit to lace Henderson's boots never mind Pirlo's.

Why would I blame Short? For not putting a gun to his head and screaming SIGN! in his face? The lad is a Newcastle fan, his mind has been set for a long time and it's not like we didn't offer him deals in multiple windows. I don't need to blame anyone for average player leaving for free to join his boyhood club.

Comparing him to Rodwell after one game has to be about the saddest thing I've ever seen. Yet you present the link with such pride, so sad. Comeback after a dozen games and I'll give it, and your views more credibility. You sir, are not a Colback expert after one game <doh>

Pleased he had a good game fella. <ok>

From what I have seen of Colback, he is good at ticking things over. Playing simple passes, putting in tackles and has decent positioning. I think our fans have been praising him purely because we expected him to be a car crash waiting to happen, especially against City, and that never materialised. I was certainly surprised by how we did and perhaps that has also clouded our judgement. Or maybe, he is just a better fit for us. Like Bentley with Blackburn. Some people do better at different organisations!
