Doesn't surprise me at all, Bob. Most of these journalists just swap stuff between themselves for column inches and clicks. Occasionally it works out, but more often than not they're wrong, but they never acknowledge it and move on to the next story. People give them far too much credit for when they occasionally get something right.

Imagine the uproar if we'd bought him <doh>
(Sunderland had agreed a deal, I was told, but it collapsed ... perhaps this was the reason.)

Leicester City boss Enzo Maresca says the club signed striker Tom Cannon knowing he had a stress fracture in his back.

The 20-year-old was a transfer deadline day arrival from Everton.

Cannon had featured for the Toffees in the Premier League against Wolves just six days before making his move to the King Power Stadium.

"Because it is a long-term investment it doesn't mean we don't need him now,"
Maresca told BBC Radio Leicester.

It explains a lot, Smug. Why he was linked with us and Preston yet nothing came of it, despite it being "imminent". This sounds like a long term injury and one question is did Leicester panic and sign him without checking him out fully?

Would explain why it seemed to take ages

Shame for the lad, but Kieran Richardson came back well from similar iirc. Glad we didn't risk it though!
