He is only 17. I personally think he speaks brilliantly, especially for a kid of his age, he seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

I’ve no issue with what he says there either. He doesn’t say he won’t do it, in fact the opposite:
“Wherever he asks me to play I’m going to play so I don’t mind.”

Just that it’s not his preference:

“I don’t really fancy playing regularly as a number nine.”

At 17 years old, I think you should keep your mouth closed and got on with it.

I don’t think you should be saying where you fancy playing and where you don’t.

It’s only my opinion of course.

I don't think its either of these things. He's a very mature, calm and open speaker. I think its more a case of him admitting its out of position for him and that its not where his strengths lie. It shows confidence that he knows where he should be playing, rather than arrogance.

For me it would be naive of him to now be thinking that he might be a number 9 after a couple of decent performances. And it shows maturity that he knows it’s an interim thing.

You see players played out of position all the time, you do it for the team.

If he’s played there again and is ineffective, it then reflects badly on Mowbray for putting him there after Jobe says he don’t fancy it.

Im not having a go at Jobe btw. I just think it’s a lack of experience and one he will learn from.

Didn't see Ekwah there either, hope he's not injured ffs
Thinking about it, it's a hugely depleted group (no Pritchard, no Ellis Taylor etc), it may just be that they're doing their warm ups in a couple of groups. There was talk of an internal or behind closed door friendly in the week, maybe those involved or not involved are doing more or less recovery work.

I now personally think there's too many not there to be worried about it.

Edit: no Hemir either.

Edit again: or Seelt.

We have 4 strikers now, I see no reason why he should have to play up top for mor than a game or two ( that’s my opinion ).

Gelhardt with a concealed cosh is how I see him.
Not a bad comparison and he does look hard as nails.
I think he is probably what we were trying to turn Gelhardt into.
Gelhardt hadn't played a full 90 before we got him so it was a big learning curve.
This lad has a lot of games under his belt and seems to know where the net is

Per the 'who are you' article about Rusyn in ALS the Ukrainian fan or writer bloke appraising him reckons he's an 'unorthodox attacker' but been primarily used on the left wing and not to be used as a no.9 at this stage, so three strikers and an option (assuming Mayenda can play striker).

I'm not against it if it means we have the option to play different systems, as I think we got a bit predictable end of last year, albeit some teams could do nowt about it, which is true of a lot of good teams. Not saying we're anywhere near this standard but Man City are relatively predictable, you just can't stop it.

I think a lot relies on burstow being up to scratch in the 9 role. From what I've seen I think Hemir will be a good option in that role, with a bit more time.
