Good to hear we have some cash to spend if needed, but it wouldn't be a disaster if we did no business in Jan (that would actually make a nice change) given the apparent strength of the squad
I think the one piece of business we're certain to do in January is bring Amad in on loan for the remainder of the season, fitness permitting, particularly if we're top 8, say.

In a deep centre midfield role? I doubt it.

O'Nien would step into midfield, with one of Seelt/Triantis taking his place at Centre Back.

Huggins played CM in pre season.

Hume may push up into CM and Pembele at right back

I'm hoping Hume is developed into that role but he's not there yet ...

... I'd say Dack could slot in there without breaking his stride.

He was in that area quite a bit on Saturday tbf.

Didn't Huggins play DM against Hartlepool? Was awful in there that day mind! Like you say could maybe put Hume or 09 in there if we have to at some stage. Hopefully Neil and Ekwah stay fit until January or certainly until Matete is back.

Yep,it's the one area we're slightly weak in,given the injuries. If,say, Neil got suspended and Ekwah picked up an injury, we'd be doing some serious adjusting.
I think Evans is out till Xmas....not sure about Matete?
Suppose we would have to trust that the likes of rigg n jobe can step up in CM. I would have liked anothet cdm but suppose we will just have to trust the players that are there now

I really hope they do because none of the above are great options

I think he's got the footballing intelligence to do it but I'd be worried about his physicality in the role.

His marras behind him look handy as well

now im biased cos I’m all for Ukraine but it really feels to me they are a country of warriors. Their footballers are very motivated, fighters and focussed as well so I feel in my bones we are going to like this lad.

It's unusual for us to bring in experienced adults so a bit of a culture shock as he's not seventeen!

If he has a tough determined edge to him, a bit like SKP, he could do well in this league ...

... and he's coming to what will seem like a lovely happy place where the shops are better than where he's left <laugh>

Same here I've got a good feeling about him. If he plays like Broadhead but with a bit of scrappiness about him he'll do well.

I think him n the Chelsea lad are going to rip a few defences to shreds. Add to that any of Clarke, Roberts, Ekwah, Dack n a few others chipping in with goals we can forget about defending. Hopefully we give somebody a bigger drubbing than we gave Southampton.
