I remember reading about this but I read an article saying the tests of the water came back fine before, during and after the event so it was suggested it was picked up elsewhere.

But this article suggests the tests of the water showed it wasn't safe.
There’s no one surely taking a chance on putting folk in unclean water

There's upwards of £600 million getting spent regenerating the city centre over the next few years. From plans I've seen, most of High Street is getting rebuilt, down to Mackie's Corner. There are apparently plans, separate to High Street/Vaux/Sheepfolds, for Holmeside and Park Lane area, not that I've seen them. The plan is basically to reverse the "doughnut effect" the city centre has gone through since the late 70s and get people living and working in the city centre again. It'll take time though for it to start to work.

Sadly, though, retail us screwed. The internet and COVID have pretty much finished off the High Street. Add in that too many retailers now want to be on our of town retail parks, where business rates and rents are much cheaper than town and city centres, so are closing and relocating high street branches.

Good to hear.

Not an easy fix as you say, with the Internet especially shaping our behaviour now. It needs imagination, drive and forward thinking, and then some luck in getting most of it right.

Good signs though, the direction is set and that is way more than can be said for most similar places.

Has anything been mentioned as to whether we can expect a post transfer window podcast from Speakman with Danny and Frankie?

Something I usually look forward to and half expected it may have been out by now if they were going to do it.

35% of £40million is a canny wedge, but we paid nothing so it’s still a win.

What it does show is West Ham rated him, cos that’s high for a sell on.
Slightly galling that West Ham will get such a significant windfall from relatively little investment in his development but the deal certainly makes sense from our club's perspective.

After that interview, the comments from Mowbray, Gooch and Batth and the 5-0 ...

... does anyone believe the club got it wrong?

Speakman - 'Tony, will you have Batth or Gooch as starters?'

Mowbray - 'No.'

Speakman - 'Is it worth paying another year to have them here just in case?'

Mowbray - 'I dont know how I'll accommodate everyone else tbh.'

Speakman - 'Okey dokey.'
