Rigg will make actual starts at Sunderland this season, I'm sure ...

... I doubt that would happen elsewhere.

And the more I see of Mowbray the more I want him in charge of this squad. His grasp of the game is one thing but he's brave enough to make decisions the supporters will moan about.

The level of moaning, this week, has been totally out of proportion to the work the club are doing imo. Some of the complaints have been because we've had enquiries from bigger clubs and 'failed' to make Stewart sign a contract.

It's time to drop these stories about players being unhappy about the direction of the club or that their mates have left ... that's just how things are at every club, it's a transient business.

Can't wait for QPR, it's great to watch Sunderland these days.

Benjamin rollheiser, winger for estudiantes

Maybe we were making enquiries about him in case we got an offer for Roberts that we felt was acceptable.

I feel like the Aravena link earlier in the summer was exactly the same for Clarke.

The fees involved are a little too high for players to bring in as "competition".

Absolutely mate. I know twitter is a fools paradise but the crack on there on Thursday night was crazy. And this idea that there is unrest in the dressing room. Ian Harte wants his arse kicking. Watched the highlights of the goals yesterday and those kids are playing for each other and are loving it. Watch Clarke’s face man in the celebrations that’s not a lad who doesn’t want to be here

Smug, you hit the nail on the head when you posed the question on Thursday evening, "would we be happier if no other club was interested in our players".
I am paraphrasing your comment, but the facts are that clubs are interested in most/all of our players, which shows just how far we have progressed under the current regime and is testament to the great job that Speakman and co. have done.

Mind Clarke had a face like a slapped arse on the Insta video of the players walking into the ground.

It was gone by warm up like. Mebs he’d been on to Harte on drive in saying ‘dickhead’

He was outrageous yesterday Jacky.

To be fair I’d have already sacked him if I’d been in Clarke’s position.
Harte apparently has previous for making comments designed to destabilise.
Bloke is a twat.

He certainly did.
Walker Peters is a decent RB as well.

Walker-Peters has played over 100 times in the Premier League, played at every level for England, including the full team in the last 18 months and was being linked with a move to Arsenal 2 weeks ago.

To say he's "decent" under sells the job Clarke did yesterday. He was exceptional.

Defended well against him, as well as teaing him a new arsehole when attacking.

Thought walker peters looked their best player, was good going forward but exposed at the back. Clarke won that battle pretty clearly, confidence boost if he even needs one to do it against someone with prem experience. Still buzzing after yesterday man

Really surprised Walker-Peter’s didn’t go back to PL.

Agree that he actually didn’t do much wrong, just got bossed.

Looked like their gaffer had players in wrong positions all over the park as well, which is odd.

It’s one of the reasons I’ve been irritated at Speakman. Because you have to get the relationship right even if there are disagreements on the decisions and it feels like it isn’t. Mowbray and his team get the side playing top football, bold football, largely with good organisation. We are lovely to watch. I rate him. Not sure why others don’t. Of course we are also recruiting well. I hope they can keep their **** together. Personally I’d have Mowbray for longer though of course like players there is always better out there we don’t know of.

We were trying to sign him

He's another of these 'talk like Pep, dress like Pep, think I am Pep' managers imo.

Because he's young people think he's modern thinking and progressive, he isn't. He plays no differently to a dozen other managers who think possession is 9/10ths of the game. Mowbray may as well of had circus music played over the tannoy when Martin was making tactical changes ...

.... Mowbray even brought a couple of kids on to put a big red nose on him to match his clownshoes <laugh>

Looking at the obligatory youtube video I have just watched I would agree with this. He looks like a younger more robust version of Roberts, but seemed to pass it earlier. One to watch out for in January as I wouldn't be surprised to see him in if we receive a larger offer for Roberts that we find acceptable and can make a profit whilst having a younger player?

Oh and with regards to Aravena, he was the one I was most excited about when the initial link came through. For me he has a look of Aguero about him in his movement etc and the way he scored with the outside of his foot on one of the videos I watched.
