Thing for me with Stewart was people saying we’d get 5 mill max and yet if we were paying out it’d be the other way. We pulled a blinder. Shame we couldn’t have had that money earlier like but no chance with his injury. Sounds like it might not be all plain sailing for him injury wise either and I’m not bothered because his calls to Neil turned him. Glad he never went to play for Gollum like
It’s petty but so am I!!

I was at Watford away and the introduction of Ba, Matete and Bennette changed the game. Came away really hopeful but none of them have really kicked on since then.

Bennette had two crossing opportunities and both times whipped in excellent balls. I know its a small sample size but I thought at the time he might be the best crosser at the club. I would love to know this for sure, but I’m fairly certain he’s never played a single minute for us (including friendlies) with a striker.

I know he hasn’t done much but I would love to see him given a run of games with a striker on the pitch. He’s more comfortable on the left but I could see him becoming a RW in the future. Scored a few excellent goals from the right (Fulham at home, US tour, Hartlepool). His debut Watford goal was with his right foot.

In terms of his development, he’s probably suffered from our play off run last season. He would have been given more minutes had we not been in contention for playoffs. What the club do with him now is a bit of a pickle.

Benette might be fast but it's technical skills and delivery that is most impressive. Could be a serious talent if we are patient with him.

The fact that relegation isn't a concern on only our second season in the champ is testament to how well we've been run.

Any idea if speakman is due to do a podcast soon? Normally does
That's a canny shout. Maybe the international break is a good time to sit down with Frankie and Danny and pick the bones out of pre season and the ins and outs of the window.

I didn't contribute to the summer window thread, but did read the one thousand odd pages, by heaven there was a lot of waffle, but that was out shone by some very good post.
I always had great faith in the club and recruitment team which l believe have made us stronger. Today's result has shown that, yes there will be bumps in the road, but as an SAFC supporter we have come to expect that.

Thanks to all posters, yes l include @Kipper as well, but special mentions to @Prehab26 @Magnus @Wheatsheaf for there info, @Smug in Boots for his level headed and sensible post, and @Scout73 for his knowledge and explanation which was most insightful.
Cheers and thank you all, and HTL
