Think we (mainly me) need to ready ourselves for the potential loss of Neil, Clarke, and Roberts in January.

Aravena, Amad, and a DM will do once the window reopens if we lose those 3.

Think that will all depend how the season is playing out, they could join PL sides which could swap places with us

Sorry if you're easily offended, I just had to post this from over the road, it's just one of endless similar posts. This one, regarding Batth, has 18 likes so far and counting <laugh>

"Isn’t good enough for us but is good enough for Norwich.

It’s a fking disgrace the way we have treat our player of the season mind. They should be ashamed really."

reet, so we can chill for a few months now eh?

i was quite happy to sit back and wait, watch the recruitment squad doing what they do best although i have to admit to a slight 'swerve' at one point as there were too many names being mentioned to leave.

i think this has been a pretty damn good window, striker situation sorted which would have been the priority in the fans eyes with the only 'down side' was no CDM...4 very early signings came in closely followed by a lad to add some experience and a wee bit of a rush at the end just to keep us on our toes.

LND...good luck fella and thanks for your time, can't really complain if the wages are near enough correct, if he handles it ok then he can have a nice wedge to retire on, pretty sure he will still pick goals up but doubt he will be as 'prolific' as he was here, very sad to see gooch go, been a solid performer and professional so wish him well, batth came in as a surprise this morning (although had been mooted enough) as i honestly thought his experience at the back would be a great help.

could i have been happier, well of course i could but i also could have been like many (who strangely did not post once there was some positive news floating in) and just never be happy...ffs, even monty came back with a positive post, but all in all, this recruitment squad and management are exactly what we have been needing for years with our club being spoken about in high regard now as a good club to deal with.

Pleased with yesterday overall but gonna be praying from now until January that our two centre midfielders stay fit. Find it hard to believe that there wasn't a DM in world football we could've brought in that would've fitted that criteria.

Maybe they thought we don't need one unless everything matches up.
Not just buying any buggar

I'm still finding the sale of Ross Stewart incredible. For all his undoubted skill and ability he was injured in the most innocuous circumstances, especially the warm up incident before the 'Boro game. I just feel there is more injuries to come and we are well rid with several thousand quid in the bank

We know the exact reason he got injured in that game @Prehab26 mentioned how he hadn't been injured since recovering from the injury he had when joining so looked good on that front or something along those lines about 36hrs before he started that warm up <laugh>. We laughed when he said it on here and said you have done it now.

Two injuries in a season both serious but the second being very serious injury, the type that the experts on here say players don't always come back from is a worry.

I thought I'd be gutted to see him go as he is as hard working as you can ask for and for me his closing down and bothering the opposition back 4 would have reaped rewards playing the way we play under TM.

But to get 10 million for an injured player with a year left who doesn't want to be here because of moneh and his agent would have made that clear to anyone listening. The club have showed they aren't the mugs of the previous regimes.

This club once paid 20 million or something for a player we didn't get ffs!

Good post mate. I don't think any club will have a perfectly balanced squad and given we're in the middle of a massive transition from L1 it looks pretty good to me. We're always going to look at what could be done better and where there's room for improvement but it's looking pretty good and we'll give most teams a game I reckon.

Who would you like to see developed in the role out of interest, I have the tactical nous of a cheese sandwich so no idea really <laugh>

Completely agree with you.

I'm not sure about who I would like to see developed. Many are saying Hume and I can visualise that from a combative perspective but I'm not sure about how rounded he could be in the role.

I'd really love to see Dan Neil be able to develop into that role. His range of passing is excellent, he likes a tackle and he's mobile enough. I just feel like he has a bit of rashness about him which needs polishing and he needs a bit more awareness. If he has it in him to learn the role though, he could be the whole package.

Word of caution. Players need to settle and big changes are rarely good, many foreign players who sometimes struggle. I think long term a cracking window but it might not go to plan immediately.
Aye, fans will need to show a bit of patience….oh ****!

Thankfully our match going fans do generally have a good grip and understanding of what we’re trying to do.

Not seen anything other than a few YouTube clips of our new recruits so hard to fully judge how good a window we've just had, but seem to have added some real quality and numbers. I'm pretty content with it all.

Feels really good to have a group of strikers to choose from and that must surely please TM too. We've now got the option to tweak the system depending on the opposition or situation in a game. That alone has to be a massive step forward.

When Stewart was first mooted to be leaving I was completely gutted, however this saga has dragged on so long I was more than happy to see him go especially at the fee we got for him.
Don’t wish the lad Ill and hope he continues with his fitness but not against us when we visit St Mary’s.
Also sorry to see Gooch leaves, bleeds red and white that lad also hoping Embo’s loan gets him back to his best as I for one would have him back in a heartbeat.
OaU and happy to put my trust in the back room staff HTL.
Thing for me with Stewart was people saying we’d get 5 mill max and yet if we were paying out it’d be the other way. We pulled a blinder. Shame we couldn’t have had that money earlier like but no chance with his injury. Sounds like it might not be all plain sailing for him injury wise either and I’m not bothered because his calls to Neil turned him. Glad he never went to play for Gollum like

Were we ever in for Cannon? I'm not sure we were. I think we wanted Rusyn to complement the strikers we already had.

We were. But as you know it depended on 3 clubs all getting what they wanted, Wolves ended up in the mix and it over complicated things. The only winner was us in the end. As I said the other day "Sunderland hold all the cards". And we did
