Gut tells me Roberts will be gone. Out of contract next summer and Southampton will be able to throw money at him and us. And I bet he took a big pay cut to come to us in first place

Stewart to Southampton is a strange one, no doubt hes a quality striker but not sure there style of play truely suits him. They play slow possession based football, looking for their forward to link play n make little movements in the box to create space for themselves. Those things are his strengths, hes better when he has space to run in behind and in a team that gets crosses in. He is at hos best in a team that plays at a high tempo.

He will suit southamptons pressing out of possession, just surprised they are potentially going to pay good money for a striker that might not suit there style of play
Best example of that ever, Liverpool signing Carrol, I asked a Liverpool "supporter" at work were they going to change their whole style of play to suit him, I dont think he understood the question, but he was from Devon :)

And also be a total crock as well like, they can have as many opinions as they like from club doctors etc but they won’t know what he’s like until he’s playing full paced championship football. I’d obviously like him to stay but wish him well if he does leave…and we have a proper replacement for him!

I don't even know what £££ I would be happy with if he was to go...

£10m? Maybe £20m for both Stewart and Roberts.

Not sure we'd even have enough time to replace them.

On the other hand, he's bobbed about clubs for years without finding a home. He's played his best football here and does he want yet another move?

Ahahahahahaha, TM just cracked a belting joke.

'If Ross leaves, someone else will come in and fill the void, the fans will love him and make songs up about him. This has happened for years, i played against Kevin Phillips and Niall Quinn, but they moved on the club have since had the likes of Charlie Wyke and Will Grigg"
I hope his earlier slip of the tongue wasn't Freudian, when he said something like, Stewart will only be allowed to go if a ****e in shining armour comes in first :emoticon-0102-bigsm:emoticon-0102-bigsm

I mean that’s one argument. It’s another reasonable one to think he wants to play in the premier league and is looking at our squad and thinking Southampton is his best chance. Especially if you add the extra salary into it.

not saying he will, just my gut on where this ends up

Aye. Wouldn't disagree.

People on Twitter asking, 'WTF is going on?'

Sorry lads, there's only one way to stop clubs wanting your players ...

... have players other clubs don't want.

Should have sorted his deal about 4 weeks ago to be fair. The fact we have let him have 1 year left opens us up to this. Roberts would be horrific to lose at such a late stage in the window.

Wouldn't sell for 10m

I think it's a sign of modern tactics. Now full backs are covering your midfield roles, your mids push on. His brother is a good example. Rodri as well although he starts further back. Havertz plays a similar role

Rodri is a holding midfielder he only ends up so far up the pitch at times because of how good City are at keeping their opponents pinned in their own box. I’d love us to try and mould Bellingham into that type of player I think he’d be brilliant there sitting in front of the back 4.

Bellingham holding with Neil buzzing around in the middle then a good technical playmaker as the AM/10 - maybe Rigg in time.

Agree. Fits the same model as Roberts - out of contract and would command a large fee now.

Going to be a few squeaky bums over the next 36 hours. ****ing hate this window ****
