Be a massive fee to let Roberts go. We'll know what we're being quoted to bring in players to that role and if we rate them above or below Roberts.

It's nuts, you've still got our fans all over social media saying KLD/Speakman will sell at first offer/for pittance in response to things like the Ekwah interest story from yesterday. Again, where does this come from, who have we sold that we wanted to hold on to for below value in his tenure.
They’re either manic depressives or on the wind up, honestly no other explanation m8

One of Short's biggest mistakes - if not the biggest - was losing Peter Walker and not replacing him. He was an excellent CEO and for Short to replace him with that Irish sounding Lawyer, who's name I will not speak.......was a ****ing joke

To be fair to her, she was apparently very good as club secretary and was seen as ambitious and competent. The fact that she was nearly on the FA committee and was listed as one of the top 100 most powerful women in world sport gives an indication that we thought she was good enough. But as the saying goes, you can fool all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but not all of the people all of the time. Personally I'd heard enough about her before hand to not trust her and stories of how she built up her power base and squeezed out other people were floating round for a while before her removal. All lot if not most of the damage KLD is having to put right can be traced back to her.

Any, enough of her. Any news on incomings?

For me contract management should be if you get to one year left and you get sold or you get renewed.

For some reason we keep finding ourselves in no man’s land.

Anybody with just one year left we should be actively trying to sell.

I don’t think we’ve been doing that. Instead we seem to have a “wait and hope” approach to contracts.

He was when he first came, it was Barry and De Jong sitting with Yaya behind Tevez. Jude is currently playing as a 10 in a 442 diamond

Jobe hasn't really played as a 10 when he hasnt been up top for us. More left side of a 3 with more license to get forward, with Dan right and Ekwah sitting.

Fair one, I was just thinking of when he played us as original comment said yaya when he was at his best, I’m sure that was the season he got about 30GA in the league alone combined from midfield.

Jude was always a b2b for dortmund I think Madrids system at the minute is a bit of a mess it’s probably not as easy to compare that ours. They have no proper striker on the pitch or anyone even occupying that part of the pitch where you’d normally see a 9 linger ahead of the midfield so you see Vini and Rodrygo wider then Jude and Valverde both operating centrally ahead of Camavinga and Tchouameni.

What do you know to say that so definitively?

could have chosen better words possibly but I’d like to think anybody reading it knows that I couldn’t possibly know that myself.

should have said “feels so avoidable”.

And the reason it “feels avoidable” to me, is that you don’t go into a transfer window with one of your best players having less than a year left, unless you want to invite offers for that player.

And if we are trying to renew him and he’s asking to wait until after the window, we should have been actively trying to sell him weeks ago, not now.
