2 I'd say.How many strikers do we need if Stewart leaves then? 2/3?
Ideal world we have Stewart & Rusyn as main options, with Hemir/Mayenda as development options

Walker is quoting Fishbreath though - not sure The Athletic have their own source on this?

Absolutely this. Strongly suspect it’ll be Stewart out and Rusyn in and that’ll be our lot. There’ll be a hint of a PL loan on Friday which won’t materialise and we’ll still be at least one striker lightI think people need to be mentally ready for Rusyn to be the “Stewart replacement” rather than this meaning two strikers coming in
Think this was always the plan, rather than a sudden change of plan like the stories suggest

The Athletic aren't running the story. One journalist who does write for them has quoted Fishpastes article. That's all.I’d have agreed with all of that but The Athletic are now running the same story and they don’t deal on tittle tattle as far as I’m aware. They’d have properly verified the story in my opinion and not just relied on the word of an agenda driven agent.
Agree on all points. Think he's been badly advised, but the club surely could have flexed the budget to meet him halfway?Posted this OTR regarding Stewart but wanted to share it here too.
I'll be gutted if we flog him.
Not only because he's class but because for me he represents that day at Wembo and giving me one of my best ever memories. Its ridiculous how the contract situation has played out, I don't just put blame on the club for that but also his agent. He could have had months on a higher wage here had he have signed a deal, which would have safeguarded the club into getting a proper representative fee for him too.
Ultimately I think his agent is in his ear and his head has been turned. I get it, we won't break our pay structure and he can make a wedge more elsewhere.
If he goes and we do sign Rusyn then we still need a striker
Considering the players who have signed a new deal this year I think the club would’ve offered him a very fair wage, I really don’t think this is on the club at allAgree on all points. Think he's been badly advised, but the club surely could have flexed the budget to meet him halfway?

A 'reporter' with a grudge against the club like some at WMS, ALS, etc ...
... they'd rather post something negative at times.
Utterly bored by the Stewart craic now. Just get rid of he's not 100% on board
That’s correct, sorry I wasn’t meaning to be misleading. Their journalists don’t tend to indulge in unverified tittle tattle on Twitter either do they? The Athletic aren't running the story. One journalist who does write for them has quoted Fishpastes article. That's all.

True. Am just surprised a good journo like Walker is quoting a twitter randomI have said what the craic is to you.
