    2 I'd say.

Ideal world we have Stewart & Rusyn as main options, with Hemir/Mayenda as development options

A 'reporter' with a grudge against the club like some at WMS, ALS, etc ...

... they'd rather post something negative at times.

You'd imagine we'll have at least one loan tbh ...

... I think Everton will loan Cannon in preparation for their relegation.

Absolutely this. Strongly suspect it’ll be Stewart out and Rusyn in and that’ll be our lot. There’ll be a hint of a PL loan on Friday which won’t materialise and we’ll still be at least one striker light

Posted this OTR regarding Stewart but wanted to share it here too.

I'll be gutted if we flog him.

Not only because he's class but because for me he represents that day at Wembo and giving me one of my best ever memories. Its ridiculous how the contract situation has played out, I don't just put blame on the club for that but also his agent. He could have had months on a higher wage here had he have signed a deal, which would have safeguarded the club into getting a proper representative fee for him too.

Ultimately I think his agent is in his ear and his head has been turned. I get it, we won't break our pay structure and he can make a wedge more elsewhere.

If he goes and we do sign Rusyn then we still need a striker

The Athletic aren't running the story. One journalist who does write for them has quoted Fishpastes article. That's all.

just think its time we all looked forward to the rest of the season and let the people paid to sort out the transfers do their business.. I hope we get what we need but like Mick Jagger said You cant always get what you want but if you try sometimes you find what you need.

Agree on all points. Think he's been badly advised, but the club surely could have flexed the budget to meet him halfway?

Considering the players who have signed a new deal this year I think the club would’ve offered him a very fair wage, I really don’t think this is on the club at all

Utterly bored by the Stewart craic now. Just get rid of he's not 100% on board

Aye I guess thats one of the most frustrating things about it. I think the circumstances are just typical as well, he was reportedly close to signing then got this achilles injury which changed it all.

Its a real test for the club this. If we can get a fair whack for him given the circumstances and reinvest in someone who can replace Stewarts contributions then fair enough, not as easy task given what he brings though.

Not even a genuine " reporter" either.

But there are very few of them now anyway as the job takes time, work, multiple cross checks and the willingness (more often than not) to abandon a story as it can't be substantiated.

Now they just chuck multiple feasible and semi feasible guesses out into the click hunting world, and when one is right, claim to be some kind of sage.

Anyone could do it, if they had the time to waste, no other way of getting a few bob in, or just couldn't help themselves.

I've heard we are signing Kiefer Moore from Bournemouth and Boubacar Kamara, from Villa (I just like the name), both on loan .

    There, it's easy!

And in all seriousness, I will be surprised if he is ever 100% of the player before his achilles injury.

That’s correct, sorry I wasn’t meaning to be misleading. Their journalists don’t tend to indulge in unverified tittle tattle on Twitter either do they?

Just listened to the What the Falk podcast and Stewart was brought up. The Southampton fan on there said that in his opinion, Southampton don't really need another one in if Adams leaves as they have Armstrong and other strikers (albeit young lads) to do the job up front

No. TBH. I think he would have been away already if Tone didn't come out and say so clearly that he was miles away from fitness (end of September/ October) a few weeks back. However, since then, he is back on the grass, playing behind closed doors friendly etc so clubs will now be away he isn't that far away.

I do wonder if that was a tactical statement by Tone to try and deter clubs from sniffing.
