The difference is though those clubs can just go and sign 10 wonderkids because money isn’t an issue and then evaluate who’s best and if they don’t think the others are quite up to it send them out on loan to play championship football risk free.. we need them now, we’re signing them to go straight into the team. They aren’t going to develop sitting on the bench every week.

Brighton had Dunk, Milner, Welbeck, Groß, Webster starting at the weekend who are all over 30. Brentford don’t have a young team at all as I’ve already mentioned, City only had 1 player under the age of 23 starting against the mags.

It’s fine when you have a balance and I want to see us signing wonderkids as much as everyone else, it’s exciting to not be linked with ****e has beens but we still need some experience in there.

RB Leipzig named a starting eleven entirely under the age of 22 to open the season.

I am not disagreeing with that but the club have brought in experience Baath Pritchard Evans to go alongside Onien Gooch and Stewart. That is a fairly good balance injuries aside and what we now have is some very experienced younger players with games under there belt as well take Dan Neil I don't actually know how many first team games he has played but would not surprise me if he is getting on to nearly 100 and the experience he has at such a young age is excellent for us.

Yes, I know the situations are different.

My point was more that the young players we sign are regularly dismissed as just kids for the future ...

... despite the speed others, like Jobe, have adapted and are fighting their way into team.

We were all crying out for pace and agility quite recently.

Its a bit like my post earlier when people were asking for strikers ?? we brought in 2 but apparently "these are not the ones we want we want an experienced striker ready to go who will get us 20 goals a season" and blah blah blah reasons. If we have to work with what we have so be it I will support the club for doing what they think is right. Do I believe they would like a bit more experience up front definitely but the truth is so does every other championship club and most of the premier league clubs.
For what it is worth I think that Hemir will prove all the doubters wrong as IMO with a bit more game time, and time for him and his team mates to adjust to his/there style of play he will start to score for fun.
I was saying to my da. We almost need a two month loan at the start of the season to add to what we have. Obviously no one would do that either.

Speakman said after the Lihadji sale that it allowed us to immediately active in the transfer market. I dont believe there is any need to sell again before we can buy.
Well considering he was let go to free wages, I don't think there was a big fee involved.
But I'm sure someone will point out we supposedly got £3. 5 million for him.
We didn't.

It was rb salzburg i think mate

Unreal talent at that club. Mentioned the lad konate a few times on here last season n hes banging goals in for them now

Close enough! Fill the team with young talent, they will grow, sell a few, refill. When we’re challenging the title add a couple of seasoned pros.

I don’t think I would be selling all 3 older heads right now, but I think i can see the logic. I don’t think any of them would have been playing many minutes by 2025 if all goes to plan.

If you don't mind me saying Bob, this is where you're go wrong.

You're contradicting someone and posting guesswork as a fact.

He wasn't so much let go as wanted by another club prepared to pay for him.

I know the point you’re trying to make even though it’s Salzburg not Leipzig, but they’re playing in Austria and continually outspend everyone in the division by miles. They also have numerous feeder clubs to allow free movement of players and dodgy deals. If you look at how many players they bring in from Africa etc and send them to Liefering it’s like they’re people trafficking :emoticon-0102-bigsm

My point is that I’m not against having a load of younger lads in the team at all, it’s exciting to watch but there has to be a limit because they need game time to develop and we can’t even offer some of them that now so why bring in more? What is the use of having someone as talented as Ba on the bench because we can’t give him a run of games to prove how good he is and then sign another 3-4 who’ll be in the same position when we’re on a budget?

This isn’t about the likes of Gooch, Bathh and Pritchard by the way I couldn’t give a ****e if any of them leave. It’s just about having a little bit of experience and quality in general.
