Please understand several others confirmed he said that cannon was joining us.
I HAVE NEVER SAID HE WAS JOINING.
That came initially from Nixon himself.
I have said all along SAFC would not even pay the loan fee.
Alan nixon has definitely not said cannon was signing for us, not sure where this has came from. Only thing he has said is everton were expected to make there descion last week , then it was supposed to be today . Never once said it was us he was signing for

The amount he gets right about us would suggest that Cannon is about to sign then. He links us with **** loads of players, but they never come off. Someone said earlier that he's like a broken clock, but at least they're right twice a day. He probably gets one in every 100 right

Or just refusing to be held to ransom by paying a £1m loan fee to develop someone else's player. Interesting how this kid has suddenly become hot property based on the 8 goals he has scored. Ever

Just to play devils advocate here, is £1m for a player that walks into most teams in the championship really THAT expensive?

Covers for Stewart until he’s back and solves all of our issues in the striker department, club can move forward. 3 different options up top all possessing different attributes. No more pissfarting about. If Stewart leaves then we have suitable cover and some wiggle room to get another in without stressing too much.

Also gets us a 100m win bonus for actually having a striker. Id personally take the risk, but im also getting desperate now. One new striker is not enough we also need an experienced one over the age of 25

I honestly don’t know. What I keep worrying about is that world footballs valuation of players and ours are so far apart that we’ll end up with substandard and injured strikers again and if neither the external view of value and/ or our internal view give we’ll have frustrated fans and manager and progress halts. Maybe it’s because we don’t know and it’s quiet and in reality things are falling into place but previous windows, history means it’s not ridiculous to think that way.

All he's said is around 6 clubs are after him. I was only responding to Bob as what he was saying was completely false and it starts misleading people.
He definitely gets more right that than alot of people give him credit for.
But aye people can make their own mind up

Defo mate. £1m doesn’t seem like a lot of money for what it would give us which isn’t just a decent striker but it’s also some security with the Stewart situation, granted we don’t know the exact figures and wage contribution though.

Archer came in and scored 10/11 in about 20 games for Boro who were flying and everyone was raving about him. Cannon hit 8 in 20 for a poor Preston who were the leagues 3rd or 4th lowest scorers, that’s pretty good going! I reckon he’d score plenty of goals here in our system.

Depends if the recruitment team believe they can get someone of equal ability on a permanent deal for the same money. I think it's a stretch to say he "solves all our issues in the striker department". He's scored 8 goals in his career

If you watched him last season you could see he’s a decent player. Works hard, clever runs in behind and a good finisher. 8 in 20 isn’t bad at all in the championship for your first crack at blokes football at the age of 19. Gyokores scored 17 in 46 and was apparently the best striker in the division going into last season - season before he managed 3 in 30.

If we keep hold of Stewart then he definitely does solve our striker issues. We have a player capable of starting for most of the teams we’re competing with likely on the bench and arguably the best striker in the division if he can stay fit. Then 2 younger options with no pressure on them.

If Stewart decides to leave then we still have a capable striker whilst we shop for another and aren’t left scrambling in desperation. I could understand humming and hawing over the £8m transfer fee but a poxy £1m..

I Get a bit confused by some people on here. We needed strikers and brought in 2 (admittedly not experienced in championship) now fans are saying we need another 2 because they are not happy ?? I would like to know who they think we should sign ?? If we had say 5 million to spend who would they go for as it sounds like it is easy to find strikers. Is Tom Cannon good enough or will he struggle as well is Rusyn going to be good enough or do we spend 3 million on him and get a loan in if possible. There are a lot of fans who must think it is easy to sign these players. Do I want the club to pay a 1 million loan for a player no. Do I think we could do with an experienced striker probably but could not tell you who. Do I think that Hemir and Mayenda need time yes. Did Ekwah need time yes but he was already based in the UK. TM done a great job last year getting the most out of his squad and this year I think he may well do the same with a bigger more powerful squad. And don't forget that the doom mongers will circle if God forbid we end up selling a player.
