Against my better judgement I was listening to the WMS pod this morning where they were moaning about why KLD and Sartori aren't buying players out of their own pockets instead of the sustainability model - one of them clearly doesn't understand what sustainability is, or how it works - and they got that accountant whopper on to demonstrate how we are nowhere near FFP and how there's no excuse for us not spending money on strikers (not sure the club has ever referenced FFP as being an issue). They also said that whilst they support the model, surely KLD could spend £10-20m to "get things started" etc

The thing is though we don’t need £20m. As I’ve mentioned before some of, if not the best players last season in the championship weren’t expensive players.

Benson, Cullen, Ahmedhozic, Tufan, Fleming all around £2.5m - £3.5m

Molumby, Hamer, Gyokores, McNally, Piroe all less than £1.5m.

You just need to question if A) we’re buying the right type of players and B) if we’re offering competitive wages for players who can fit straight in.

Of course you want to snap up young talent who will get better and earn money for the club but we aren’t City/Chelsea. We need players now and clearly we can’t afford to waste money signing 18 year olds who aren’t going play.

We spent £2m on Ba and Bennette combined and neither of them fit in our current Xl. Is that really necessary in the position we’re in?

I suspect they have picked up on a few throw away comments on social media and jumped on the bandwagon

What's the craic Bob? I don't follow Nixon on Twatter. He's like a broken clock that bloke

Preston fan asked if it’s Cannon day and he said he hopes so. Also reckons Sheff Utd in talks for Archer but they want £18m, so can safely assume he’ll be nowhere near Boro this season :emoticon-0102-bigsm
