You just need to question if A) we’re buying the right type of players and B) if we’re offering competitive wages for players who can fit straight in.

Of course you want to snap up young talent who will get better and earn money for the club but we aren’t City/Chelsea. We need players now and clearly we can’t afford to waste money signing 18 year olds who aren’t going play.

We spent £2m on Ba and Bennette combined and neither of them fit in our current Xl. Is that really necessary in the position we’re in?

Think the problem is because the saudis are offering ridiculous wages. (Max Power 50k a week). Agents are asking for silly wages even for average players

would be a big failure if we dont get a striker but 2 weeks to go hopefully dont do same mistake as last season

100% and I’ll probably be a massive hypocrite and on here whinging again if we don’t win Saturday but such is life

I’d suggest that for some of us who know nowt else, Cannon signing for them might be tough to take. For us with no access to scouting and FFP, it looks like we have no striker ready, a gaping hole, outbid by Preston or not wanted by Cannon and he fit the bill. Of course there’ll be a bigger picture for those who know more but we don’t know it and it feels like a blow.

Or just refusing to be held to ransom by paying a £1m loan fee to develop someone else's player. Interesting how this kid has suddenly become hot property based on the 8 goals he has scored. Ever

I agree about the high fee but it does still leave us with the hole in our side.
