Assuming Cannon was one of the 2 alternatives to Rusyn we were supposed to be looking at, then this may speed up our decision on Rusyn. Fingers crossed anyway.£8m is the biggest reason there is absolutely no chance he be coming here

No chance. He'll be around their squad.Just having a look at potential stand out loan targets if we can’t get diallo. Any chance we could get Palmer from Man City or is he destined for a premier loan

Preston, if reports are to believedHey guys. I’ve been buried in contract negotiations all week 18 hours a day and literally have no idea where things are. I know we haven’t signed anybody but just scanning it looks like Cannon definitely isn’t happening? What’s the background to that? Is he going somewhere else?
Didn’t we have a bid accepted but he didn't believe he would get game time, ahead of Simms or Stewart?
Neglected is a strong word - even teams spending daft amounts of money are struggling to sign strikers. Chelsea, for all their millions and millions ended up spending £32m on a player who has scored fewer than 20 goals in his career. Man Utd £72m on a lad who is injured and has scored 18 goals in his entire career. The transfer market is mental, especially where strikers are concerned and we are way, way down the pecking order when it comes to signing players.Getting beyond a joke now.
As great as the recruitment team have been they've neglected the striker role for way to long.

Hopefully, as the PL transfer business starts to conclude we can pick up a couple of loans but it's not as easy as people are making out
Against my better judgement I was listening to the WMS pod this morning where they were moaning about why KLD and Sartori aren't buying players out of their own pockets instead of the sustainability model - one of them clearly doesn't understand what sustainability is, or how it works - and they got that accountant whopper on to demonstrate how we are nowhere near FFP and how there's no excuse for us not spending money on strikers (not sure the club has ever referenced FFP as being an issue). They also said that whilst they support the model, surely KLD could spend £10-20m to "get things started" etcWe know the drill - those screaming to sign anyone, just anyone, will be screaming 'why did we sign him' within a couple of weeks.
Seems a ridiculous state of affairs for a professional club. After last season leaving us strikerless you'd think it was because they had something lined up, but no.
Caveat.... No idea what's going on behind the scenes![]()
Will be interesting to see where he ends up. I really think Everton are milking this. Think they want a permanent deal somewhere.Preston, if reports are to believed
Again, we can't really judge until 1st Sept. Seems as though not much will happen until the last few days of the window as PL clubs will get their squads sorted and only then will they let the fringe players leaveSeems a ridiculous state of affairs for a professional club. They have a sub-industry of selling off their Academy players - Broadhead, Simms and now Cannon. Getting £8m for Simms was ridiculousWill be interesting to see where he ends up. I really think Everton are milking this. Think they want a permanent deal somewhere.
All the so called ITK press reports seem very vague.
We had all summer to sign him mate. We could have got him signed as soon as we were promoted before wed even signed Simms and had the 3 of them starting the season with us. Simms didnt sign till the end of July..
We all knew 2 strikers wouldnt be enough, and we were soon proven right when Stewart tore his thigh muscle in early Sept leaving us with only Simms.
They’ve just sold their best player for 10millionOthers seem to just sign players (Boro). Very risky, if waiting for gems to appear in last week of window.
