Out of interest why do you believe Prehab and Bob, but state everyone else is speculating? With respect to both of them they have zero evidence to back up their claims, same as others. They were two of the posters claiming Mowbray was fed up the other night to be fair and that is wide of the mark. Believing one story and not the other is odd.
From my side the idea Baath is sulking because he has been told he wont get a new deal is pure fantasy. I dont believe it for 1 minute, and someone I trust says it isnt true. It does Baath a disservice to say he will sulk after his career frankly. It does our club no good to suggest we behave this way, without any sort of proof. Mowbray has been crystal clear about being helpful to players who want to leave, like Baath. We are behaving like a grown up football club to players like Baath, this idea we are underhand is incorrect and unhelpful in my opinion.
Glad he went to Cov then cos he isn’t good enough for first choice.
that’s not what I meant. I meant I agree with them that money is the driving factor, but that they (and everyone) is speculating about the motives of both the club and Batth because nobody other than those people can know.
Even if somebody hears something direct from Speakman or batth, they might be lying to them. Even if a white lie. And then every person in that chain becomes Chinese whispers. That’s my point. Nobody can actually know.
When I quit my last job I said it was purely about money and told nobody else any different. The truth was I was on my way to a breakdown and I didn’t want to admit it. Only my wife knew. Not comparing the situations but using it as an example of how anybody claiming to know a fact about the reasons behind something, is speculating
I agree completely, we all do it. I don’t know Bob or prehab in real life but for years both here and otr they’ve been informative and right more times than they’re wrong, but they pick info up from connected people, not the horse mouth, which, as you say are the only ones who know what’s going on.
From a personal standpoint mind if I was kld, and I’m already putting my own money in to run the club, I wouldn’t be massively inclined to pay for an extra year of a player who probably has v little playing time ahead of him. He has a contract for a year, if we want him to play then play him and shake hands next July.
I've known prehab for a long time away from here. What he posts is genuine.
If we'd been promoted I doubt Batth, Gooch, Evans, etc, would've been seen as vital and supporters wouldn't have shed many tears if they were replaced imo ...
... most of these questions seem to boil down to whether or not you trust the club.
Some supporters obviously don't feel they can.

Maybe some news, maybe not.
A game tomorrow and we will see what Mowbray has had them working on this week.
We’re better than the last two results so I think things might start to take a positive turn.

Absolutely - and this was my point about believing him. I believe what he says is what he believes to be true. And he's earned that belief because most of the time he turns out spot on. But some things are impossible for him (and anyone) to know for fact. So its possible to "believe" him (and other ITKs) and appreciate them massively for the contribution to the forums, whilst also bearing in mind that what they believe to be true might not always be right. That's just fair and human emotions. It's only fair on people who hear stuff that we all remember that thats all they're doing - hearing stuff and feeding it back to us. They're not privvy to the innermost thoughts of individuals, because nobody is.
It's why we should never attack them or doubt them just because occasionally they "get things wrong". But it's also why it's okay to constructively tell them you think they might be wrong. Saying they might be wrong isn't saying you don't trust them or accusing them of lying. They just might not be hearing the truth. Even if they think they are and believe they are.

The endless speculation is not doing anyone any good. I'm waiting until the end of the window,see what the squad looks like, then venture an opinion on our prospects.

The amount of negative speculation on this thread is ridiculous, way down the rabbit hole.

The players going to Saudi, etc, will tell everyone they're going for a new challenge, to promote football in the UAE, etc etc etc ...
... not one of them will say they're going for the money, not even to people at the club.
So that first hand ITK information is 100% accurate and totally false at the same time.
