Bear in mind Boro want him and are about to get £15m+ for Akpom (the kinda fee we'd have got for Stewart if not for his achilles). They will definitely be able to outbid us for a permanent. And frankly may well be his preferred option for a loan as well.

I don't think people have taken into account the whole Saudi situation. They are hoovering up everyone's has beens resulting in the younger player category being more competitive.

Southampton, Coventry, Boro, and a few others, seem to be losing key players. They're bringing in repacements but could well end up weakened. If we keep very good squad together, and add to the late on, we could have a really good season.
Think villa are after a sale mate he’s had 2 or 3 loans already Would be an excellent signing but suspect Villa are after £10m to £15m for him. I’m still hopeful we can land Van Hoojdonk think he’s the kind of player we need
He's on the back page of the Echo today. It's saying an agreement has been in place with Preston for about a week but they aren't letting him go until they've brought in another forward.
Genuine question about Van Hoojdonk as I know next to nowt about him but why is it that he seems to be many of our fans’ preferred target? What little I’ve seen of him he seems to be quite immobile, cumbersome, limited technically and clumsy. I could be way off, as I say it’s a very limited sample I’m basing it off. He does seem to have that handy knack for strikers of being in the right place at the right time. That instinct is difficult to teach.
