I'm not privy to any details since his injury but the club were sure he was about to sign until he was injured, however they couldn't allow him to sign it due to the severity of the injury. I don't think anyone will sign him in this window till he's proved his fitness, if he cones back fully fit the offer he was prepared to sign will still be on the table.
The problem will lie with how he feels about the club putting it on hold due to his injury and we all know his agent will be in his ear telling him the club have treated him badly trying to push a move to line his own pickets as he was the problem delaying the new contract in the first place
I think that is poor by the club if they were sure he would sign. I know we need to protect ourselves but it would doing right by the player if he was going to sign before his injury and then we pull it away. Especially if there was a verbal agreement before hand.
