I think that is poor by the club if they were sure he would sign. I know we need to protect ourselves but it would doing right by the player if he was going to sign before his injury and then we pull it away. Especially if there was a verbal agreement before hand.

So you’d be ok with giving a player a huge contract who may come back a completely different player?

It’s just business I suppose, what if the injury finishes or nearly finishes his career? And we’re paying 4 yrs wages for nil output.

If there was an agreement beforehand yes, it's not like he had change his mind because of the injury.
There might be an agreement/understanding on both sides that withdrawing the contract was the correct thing to do until he proves his fitness then fair enough but if we knew he'd sign before the injury and have then pulled it away I think that is bad form.

You're right it is business but for a career ending injury he would be covered by insurance wouldn't he? Just think we should look after the players if they were prepared to commit.

“An English club showed interest in the player from Universidad Católica Alexander Aravena, who would be avoiding contact with his representatives to start a relationship with Fernando Felicevich.
    #circulocentral”

We’re mentioned specifically in this news broadcast (can anyone translate?) so I’m reading that as Aravena is consulting a different agent now over a deal with us - the same agent as Alexis Sanchez.

This loan fee for the Everton striker doesnt make much sense to me. Unless it comes with an option to buy. Unless there is an option in our favour we are paying Everton to develop a player for them. It also adds a degree of pressure to make sure we get a return on our investment by playing him.

Loan fees are well known but for established players really, where there is a clear reason. Tevez at Utd for 2 years for example. Canon isnt the same situation. He can clutter up Evertons u21s or he can play mens football here. Paying £1m without an option would be barmy in my opinion. Better strikers than him will be up for loan as well in 2 or 3 weeks I suspect.

Thats a crazy way to run a club, and exactly the type of stuff that landed us in league one to begin with.

Me too. Of all the names mentioned recently he is the one that excites me the most (as I have said previously, he is almost Aguero like in his movement and finishing - on the youtube clip the one he takes early with the outside of his right foot.

Exactly, why would we pay 1m for a loan deal. You'd get a decent player brought outright for that!!

We have to remember Stewart sat on the offer for a while, his agent trying to play hardball and it backfired, I don't know figures but it's been mentioned it would have made him the highest player at the club, you can't offer that to someone who may never get back to full fitness, if he is fully recovered the offer will still stand, can't say fairer than that

The reported fee seems a bit off for Avarena. According to Transfermarkt his total fees are 708k which was 8 months ago. I know he's having a good season, 9 goals in 19 games, but 8m (even if that's dollars) sees a hell of a rise.

    it's more than that mate.
    His agent fee's.
The player gets relocation fee's usually £25,000.
Then its down to % of wages, never straight forward loan deals

That's 3 goals in 2 games, and assists. Get him signed up.
