What's mowbray excuse for playing 09 at centre back and making him Captain?

This we must have better centre half’s on the bench. I love o9 and he’s versatile but unless our first choice in any position is injured or suspended he shouldn’t make the starting line up imho, great on bench but not a starter if we’re serious it’s like tm was just trying to get him in somewhere

Mind, I’d have rather played anyone in the squad as a lone striker other than Clarke when the substitutions happened!

There’s loads of time to get a striker in, I’m not overly worried certainly at this stage of the season.

Yeh that Aravena story is doing my head in. And its being spun by people as meaning we have bid for him. One of the stories says somebody has bid 8m and that we are interested. The other story says we haven't bid for him but are interested.

For some reason SAFC twitter folk seem to be interpreting this as meaning we have bid 8m for him. When literally all the clues point to us not having done so.

dear god......NO thats not what i'm saying. Stewart is a proven striker at this level. He understands the runs a striker needs to make, he chases down lost causes, he gives defenders a very hard time for the full 90 minutes...thats what makes him successful. He make things happen. Add to that the delivery Clarke and Roberts supply and its my belief that a fit RS playing yesterday we would not have lost...Just my opinion.

I dont know who should have played ahead of him yesterday to be honest. Baath has looked to be struggling pre season to me. Triantis looked raw in the last pre season game. Everyone else is injured or rookies. It was absolutely the right choice to play him yesterday at CB and personally I thought he was great. I thought he had saved a clear goal but only saw a replay this morning that it was going wide. His playing out from the back was good to in my opinion.

That’s spot on m8, all about opinions they’re like arseholes we’ve all got one. I don’t agree btw bud, I’d have put baath in all day, he’s twice the ch o9 will ever be imho.
