I was at the match last night, my dad watched it on tv and says the stream quality was rubbish.

we gave away sloppy goals and then struggled to turn the tempo up with a defensive formation and no strikers.

It’s only pre-season but I came away thinking it’s gonna be a long hard season if we don’t sign another striker. Every time Hemir goes into a 50/50 we will be wincing.

we seemed to start in a 5-3-2 with Ba and Bennette up top but we couldn’t move the ball from our third to the final 3rd. I reckon Mowbray wanted to test that system as a plan B and the first glance of it didn’t work. Still, that is exactly what pre-season is for and all that matters is that we start actual season well.
Good 2nd post marra, welcome to the forum

I wouldn't snap there hands off for 3million, he's 1 of the best strikers in the division

I'd let him run his contract out personally, I was hopeful that he would sign a new deal until a couple of weeks ago. No reason other than I didn't think he was going to get a chance with a club that could see him promoted.

P.s I'd tell Boro to **** off, not only would it be selling to a rival the lad probably wouldn't have to move house. **** making life easy for him! But that's just me!

We are building really well. Don't think it'll be next season when we do it though. Sure Seelt said when he signed the club have a 4 year plan from this season. I'd be happy to make the play offs again, mind. Disappointed if we don't. But from me personally it isn't a must to get promoted this season as were still very much in that transition and building process.

Leicester look mega.

I'd prefer to keep Stewart for the season and let him run his contract down and us lose him for nothing than sell him for £3m or whatever.

Once he's fit, he'll definitely score goals, and the ship has sailed on us getting a decent fee, so I'd rather just chance that his goals fire us up to the Premier League and then let him leave on a free next Summer if he won't sign on then.

I'd probably think differently if we'd spent any real money on Stewart in the first place, but we got him for buttons, and I reckon selling him for considerably less than he's worth makes us look weak.

If we're looking good come January and promotion is looking possible, he might sign on with us anyway.

My secret source has revealed that we're trialling a young French forward called Darnell Bile, recently released from St Etienne due to disciplinary reasons.
I’ll be spewing if we sign him

Agree with the timelines you've outlined. I would accept nothing lower than £5m in this transfer window, from a competitor, as his fitness is unproven.

The club won't want a unmotivated player at the club. He might be pissed off with the club and won't care a jot. If we are going to get any sort of money they have to weigh everything up

If he's unmotivated, he won't get games, he won't score, he won't move for the wages he wants next summer.
Or he could come back, score a **** load of goals and we then offer him a much better contract. I honestly think he's the type of lad that thrives on goals. He would want to put 100% in and prove his worth.
I'd keep him for the season.
