one thing i'm a big believer in, is you never judge a window until it's shut,

last two years have turned out to be cracking windows, that's have improved us year on year, not everyone has agreed with club's decision but at the moment everyone has been the right one,

i think the club have earned the trust from fans at the moment

Yet the vitriol and criticism never stops, amazing tbh.

As I've said before people seem to want to have their digs before the club comes along, signs players and spoils their fun ...

... Vauxie, RTG, is currently attacking KLD, saying he's only in it for the money and we need a proper owner.

That's bad enough but there's a dozen liking his posts <doh>

We need one of those old farts we always dread coming on against us. There was a big thug who played for Gillingham I think, and he must have scored against us or created a goal every time he was chucked on in the last fifteen minutes.
I watch a lot of gillingham because of my dad and I can confidently say we need absolutely no one who plays for them :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He is the only person across the 2 boards I have ever muted ‘ties in with what I heard’ absolutely blags my head

The mini meltdown occurring at the minute concerns me slightly. Whether we like it or not the fans do have an influence and what we’re trying to do is going to need their buy in and patience or it could quickly unravel with a young group and potentially fragile confidence. The wavering of faith based on very little (what would it be like if we actually sell Clarke or weren’t actively trying to bring in strikers) is not only undeserved and hugely disproportionate but it’s also a bit of a worrying sign. I hope the club don’t abandon any ideologies at the first sign of discontent or a wobble.

Thankfully I think our match going fans have much more faith, patience and understanding than what we see online. I hope so at least.

I don’t know much about Dack. The quote from Wiki below suggests that he works very hard for the team - a must in out side:

Dack's manager at Gillingham between 2015 and 2017, Justin Edinburgh, described him as "the catalyst of [our] team...full of energy, he is tenacious, he has quality and he is a top player – definitely Championship quality", adding that he "probably covers more ground than any other player".[48][49]

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Dack

Absolutely loved Dack when he played for us, but a couple of problems, when the late Justin Edinburgh praised him, he was correct, but that's over six+ years now, and the player has been out a considerable amount of times with injury since (long term). I'd happily take him back at the Gills, although probably not be able to afford his wages now, BUT his time at Blackburn hasn't seen them promoted, and I just fear at Sunderland he might not be what he once was, also he always needed the free role, if you try and pin him down, you take away his qualities. He can be a creator and a goal scorer, but if you try and pin him down to one, then he's probably not for you. He played in the same team as John Egan (Sheff Utd) under Edinburgh, and Egan has experienced time in the Prem and is back there again, I have to ask that little question in the back of mind, why did Brad never make it, he's always been the joker of the pack, so I wish him all the best wherever he goes.

If I was in anything only for the money the thing that I would be in only in for the money for would certainly not be a football club.

I had to laugh at myself with that tbh.

I either posted on here, or pm'd one of the regulars, that we were signing a striker from France ...

... I've no idea if this lad is the same one but ties in with what I heard <doh>

I still chuckle when the lads I go to the match with said the January 2022 window was "horrendous"

Just to recap
- we signed Clarke, Batth, Roberts, Matete and Defoe
- we got rid of - Denver Hume, Tom Flanagan and Aiden O'Brien

"horrendous" :emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl:

I don’t post over there now, I can’t keep track of any thread it all just turns into a bitching session or someone makes a spelling mistake that gets pounced on and de-rails the whole thing, minefield of ****e when you just want some info :emoticon-0102-bigsm

100%, so easy to judge a window too early as well. I was moaning about the January window being crap in about march time then Ekwah turned into a beast in CM.

He's a complete wind-up mate...one of the most boring posters on there, and that's saying something!

Of course he's in it for the money - he's not here because he's a massive lads fan. His investment will increse 10 fold once we get to the PL

however

He's spending money and improving the club/team whilst he does it. This is compared to the shyster asset strippers who bought the club with it's own money, and the Texan Billionaire who had no idea how to spend money

I know which model I prefer. If KLD sells us in 5 years time for a massive profit, leaving us as an established, well run PL team then I will have absolutely no complaints

Probably the best transfer window we've ever had, certainly for a long long time anyway

Looks like Mayenda is on his way then, which gives us another option up front to complement Hemir.

I can't see another striker coming until the RS saga is sorted one way or the other, as we have all said it needs resolving sooner rather than later so the club can react accordingly

I wouldn't worry at the minute marra, this window has a while to go yet.
It often happens that some fans get disproportionately itchy when they can't see anything happening and the rumour mill is in full swing. All of a sudden it's speculated that we can't bring anyone in as we won't spend,we can't agree new contracts with existing players, this or that player is unhappy and wants to move and as each day ticks down some can get feverish about it. This regime has an excellent record so far in the transfer market and has built a very capable, exciting squad.Of course,it requires some strengthening, but there is no reason to suppose that won't happen. They're not going to abandon their current strategy on the evidence of a few malcontents on here or over the road.
