I think he will have a good season at ipswich this yr
Surprised another CM has been mentioned on this thread, i would say we are well stocked if we stick to the 2 in midfield or go with a more fluid 3 with Ekwah, Neil, Bellingham, Ba, Matete, Rigg, Pritchard and Embo don't fit the 2, but fit a fluid 3 so there is 7.

Aye he was a good fit here though. And Wigan developing players v us.
There was potential there.
Its a specific type of CM we short on though, not overall numbers.
A DCM would probably be the cherry on the cake
A striker, Winger and 2nd choice keeper are more of a priority.
We can trust the club to reinvest such an amount properly too. The previous regime would have pocketed the majority of it to pay the leccy bills.
22yr old and on over 10K a week was the rumour.

When he got a run in team fit he looked a player. I think we’d have made him really decent.

Possibly, for me it depends on how we set up, what we expect from the midfield.
I can see either Neil or Ekwah sitting deeper, with 2 of the others being more forward thinking, but flexible enough that if the deeper midfielder goes one of the others holds.
Something I think we have in the players named. The outlier to that is if we got Amad back and how that fits in, then we probably are needing a 'proper' holding midfielder
But that was in League 1. I'm pretty sure AN mentioned he played on his niggles and injuries.
Had he been 18/19yr old then it might have been a different story.
I don’t really take the League One argument. While we were stuck there I said on here for years we’d be a better team in Championship as players better suited.
Can see him doing well for Ipswich, this league it’s a different game and he’s more suited to it.
22 is still developing age.

Winger is another where I think Jewi and Lihadji will be more than adequate replacements for Clarke and Roberts. I have high hopes that Lihadji especially will really push on this season and rediscover the form and confidence that led him to be linked to Barca when he was younger.

I doubt we would be talking about him had the club got another one in on top of Simms.

I’m same, think Lihadj and Jewi have more than enough to back up and support the 2 main men.
I really like Jewi there’s something there and the lad looks like one who proper wants to make it.
Simms was a similar age on a similar deal mate. We went for Simms when Broadhead went elsewhere.
For me Broadhead was a better player than Simms overall, yeah he has the injury issues but he had more natural ability for sure.
It’s gone now anyway like so we never know.
Im not sure about those 2 lads at the minute, i think we can do better in those areas. I reckon Ba will be used to back up clarke this season but id like us to sign another quality forward players for the wide areas. Obviously amad is the one we all want
