Could this free up Cannon to come here?

Everton can't be a popular destination for ambitious players, the club is a mess and I doubt they can offer more money than other clubs ...

... in contrast Sunderland seem to be operating as a proper football club.

Fingers crossed on Cannon though.

Some of the best centre backs I have watched are smaller than Hume. Cannavaro, Baresi, Puyol. All moved in from full back too. Thiago Silva isnt a big lad either. Hume looks like he is aggressive enough, but more importantly composed enough to play in there. He is good with the ball at his feet at as well and the best partnerships have always had a ball playing centre back. Happy enough with him at full back, just wouldnt be surprised if in a year or two he is a centre back.

Mascherano was only 5 foot 7, put spent most his career playing CB.

They sold Foster to Burnley in January so have cash to spend. I know it would be hard to take in the moment but I really think we need a big sale for this ‘model’ to really get going. It’s a slightly boring comparison now but look at Brentford, they lost in the playoffs and then sold their two best players (Watkins and Benrahma) and used the money to fund Toney and got promoted that season.

Maybe we just didn’t think he was worth €6m?

Thanks, I was wondering how they had that sort of money to spend.

Happy Frigan has gone somewhere as it puts an end to the Saga.

hope we sign another striker like. Or two. Surely we don’t repeat the same mistakes as last season.

mayenda to come in as the prodigy and a ready made starter to come in please. Like the look of that Daniele Montevago who was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Still in no rush me. Loved what I’ve seen of Hemir. Ekwah looking immense in midfield. Ballard and Batth fit and playing. Pritchard looking lively last night. And Rigg looking like he will contribute more than I think even the most optimistic of fans would have predicted.

right now no news is good news as far as I’m concerned
