Are you able to elaborate at all mate?
I’m really intrigued as to what we’re getting with Bellingham. Whether we’ll see him purely as a 10 or whether we think he’ll develop into an 8 in time.

I’m really excited by him. More so for in 2-3 years than now. But the fact we’ve given him the number 7 shirt really surprised me as from the limited I’ve seen he’s not “ready” yet. Mind you he’s so young that he could literally rapidly improve in a month.

so you can only assume they expect him to have a major impact this season. Which is quite exciting.

Nothing really specific mate. They said he was great to coach, always wanting to learn. Great attitude. Really calm in the game, which is massive. Lots of scope to improve and probably not yet settled on a best position.

Great stuff, thanks.

The only red flag with huggims record is fitness and like I said if he stays fit he will be the best full back at the club.
I saw quite a lot of him at youth level due to a family members son playing along side him or should I say was in the squad with him. The kid was special and leeds knew it, they let him leave for his own benefit but had they know they would have been relegated would have been happier to keep him.
I know it's a big step up and we only seen him play a few times but I can tell how assured ans comfortable he is on the ball, exactly what made him stand out even he was younger.
I love Hume and think he is quality, but he had to work hard a develop in to the confident player he is, the first time I saw Huggins in a Sunderland shirt I've never seen anyone as comfortable on the pitch since Marcos Alonso made his debut.
I know it's all about opinions and I've seen quite a lot of this kid, the club obviously agree as they have given him as much time and worked so hard with his rehabilitation to get back to his best for a reason
Yeah, he's incredibly exciting. Even in the play offs, he came on and looked really confident, speedy and slick on ball. Let's hope his injuries are behind him

I think Hume has the right temperament for the Evans role ...

... plus he tackles, heads, passes and runs for 90 minutes.

What do you think Scout73
I think he could longer term but not at the minute, so much harder playing with your back to play in CM then dropping into central areas occasionally

The lad has the right attitude to play there long term tho

Don't know if I'm bias having seen him over a couple of years I just feel really comfortable watching him, he very rarely loses the ball , demands when he's under pressure, he retains possession incredibly well, like has been said he can play either side and I do see Hume moving in to that CDM role at some point, even if it's not a permanent fixture it's an option, one that would have been ideal when Evans was out

I played on either wing and occasionally up front, I would defend as I was lazy and I couldn't play CM as I just wasn't good enough, it's probably the hardest position on the pitch, my son plays there and asks me different things and I havnt got a clue what to advise, other than you need eyes in the back of your head, have half a second on the ball and there are possibly 4 players coming from different directions to challenge you, it makes you realise how good the top CMs are when they make it look so easy

Does anybody have any idea on our FFP situation? I ask because it will be a factor in if and how we sell a player. West Ham have played a blinder in getting all the fee for Rice up front. It means they can re-invest it immediately without a bank loan at high interest rates I would imagine. If Burnley are serious about Clarke and we sell at say £14m, I wonder if that will need to be paid in one some up front, to allow us to re-invest it back into the squad this season. It does seem these multi year installments are going to be more difficult with interest rates being whay they are...
We are well away from being even close to FFP limits. It's a 3 year cycle for FFP and last year was year 1 and we where well under its rules and regulations.

I don't think this year will be any different unless we suddenly spend £20 odd million and sell no one

I think Baath is the best defender at the club personally. Would be a shame if he went and would leave a gap in my opinion. Ballard and ONien might be a good pairing. Alese next in line then we would have to see how Triantis adapts, the standard he has been used to hasnt been strong. Huggins if fit might allow Hume to go inside? Hey ho, I have talked myself into it, we have enough after all.
Jonny Evans! a ready made shoe in if he's fit.
