If it is true with Batth wanting to go for personal reasons, I'd listen to offers in January. Give us half a season to bed in the new recruits. Personally I'd like him to get a new contract and stay, I love the bloke and I think is is a solid lad and the hearbeat of the team!!

I think Hume has the right temperament for the Evans role ...

... plus he tackles, heads, passes and runs for 90 minutes.

    What do you think Scout73

He seems to naturally drift into central areas too wouldn’t be against trying him there pre season and seeing how he got on if Huggins is over his injuries

Don't see how a loan move could benefit bennette. The issue last season was the language barrier, I'd like to think that would be sorted by now.

We can name 9 subs now, I'd have thought Bennette would be one of those, a sub for Clarke

You didn't even mention Seelt - he's 6 ft 3, played 65 times in the Dutch second division and has played for PSV and been on their bench several times, despite only being 20. He's a ball playing defender and might be closer to the first team than both Triantis and Alese in my opinion.

What are you basing this on? Have you seen a lot of him specifically at youth levels? He's 22 and hasn't managed 10 professional games yet. Hume and Cirkin are streets ahead of him at present. There are massive red flags with Huggins and that record.

Aye, forgot about him! I reckon you are right as well about how high the pecking order he might be. Time will tell, but my eldest lad watches a lot of european footy and he says he has looked good.

Good call, forgot about the 9 subs rule change. Hope the lad kicks on as there is a very good player in there.

Should be fully training back end of pre season, Mowbray mentioned it here
I also love the way he bigs up the young lads, mentions something they need to work on then mentions 3 or 4 things they’re good at, such a good man manager

If there's a humble pie shop in Sunderland they'll be raking it in ...

... I'd be going for second helpings, totally misjudged Mowbray and Alex Neil <doh>

The only red flag with huggims record is fitness and like I said if he stays fit he will be the best full back at the club.
I saw quite a lot of him at youth level due to a family members son playing along side him or should I say was in the squad with him. The kid was special and leeds knew it, they let him leave for his own benefit but had they know they would have been relegated would have been happier to keep him.
I know it's a big step up and we only seen him play a few times but I can tell how assured ans comfortable he is on the ball, exactly what made him stand out even he was younger.
I love Hume and think he is quality, but he had to work hard a develop in to the confident player he is, the first time I saw Huggins in a Sunderland shirt I've never seen anyone as comfortable on the pitch since Marcos Alonso made his debut.
I know it's all about opinions and I've seen quite a lot of this kid, the club obviously agree as they have given him as much time and worked so hard with his rehabilitation to get back to his best for a reason

Yeh Seelt apparently had ankle injury but will “probably be ok for the start of the season”, albeit without much preseason game time. So I’d expect him to start on bench assuming we have other options. Which was likely going to be the case anyway.

Are you able to elaborate at all mate?
I’m really intrigued as to what we’re getting with Bellingham. Whether we’ll see him purely as a 10 or whether we think he’ll develop into an 8 in time.
