Does anyone know owt about any of these youngsters signing up? Any of them got anything about them or just making up the numbers?
Must be decent if they are getting professional contracts, normally lucky if there's 2 a season so we've obviously a good crop we've got coming through.
They just really use the academy for filling with numbers so the outstanding players have a team to play in.
I spoke to Patrick Almond after he was released and he said there was only a couple from his age group that had signed the scholarship at 16 and only 1 was given a professional contract

Simms on loan would be ideal for us. Gives us a forward we know is good at championship level and fits in with the squad. Also gives time to see how the Stewart situation pans out and how Hemir settles and develops. I can’t see them loaning him out unfortunately.

I’d happily see him back permanently as I rate him and think, even at the fees mentioned assuming they include add one etc, he would be good value.

If they’re wanting daft money for simms I wouldn’t be against us trying for cannon he was excellent at Preston last year

Said I wouldn’t mind us trying for him a few weeks ago. Looks like a quality player but can’t see him warming the bench here he’s good enough to start for most championship teams.

If Simms is available for loan, then I wouldn’t mind going for him - just don’t put a recall clause in his contract.

Everton trying to get Piroe for Swansea, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Simms going to Swansea on loan/permanent is part of the deal.

Cannon is a better all round player for sure, always liked him when watched at youth level. He surprised me when on loan at preston as didnt think he was ready for the championship just yet but he showed he 100% is

Thats either a completely made up figure or Everton are trying to rinse Ipswich out of a few quid as they are minted.

I'd love to see the lad back here...but not at that sort of price. The days of paying over the odds for players are thankfully behind us.

Dyche is a good judge of a player and doesn't think Simms is PL standard.

Therefore there's little point in us giving him a three/four/five year contract.

A season's loan is as far as I'd go but would still want another striker in.

I'd rather pay three or four times the price for Amad tbh.

We are signing players that can potentially make the step up to premier league, I don’t think Simms is in that bracket, he’s a steady championship player. I would prefer us to look elsewhere.
