Havertz to Arsenal for £65m.

Said weeks ago I think Chelsea will be up there with City this season if they get Poch or Nagellsman. Now they have a bucketload of coin to spend it could be interesting.
Do they have a bucket load of coin to spend? Genuine question, as I thought all this was just to realign their FFP after their spending spree under Boehly?

Didn’t the club withdraw the original contract offer when he got himself injured and are seeing how his injury impacts his game? He was keen to sign on our terms offered previously (after his injury of course).

If he still looks the part in the early season then offer the same terms with a deadline of about a week to sign.

If he doesn’t sign, then look to hopefully bring Semedo or the other striker as first choice. Can’t be keeping his match fitness up if he’s looking to move to Stoke.
Almost correct

Is it ****e. They’ve signed players on 8 year contracts so they didn’t have to worry about that for now. Raising easily £200m+ in player sales plus shifting loads off the wage bill will allow them to spend as freely as they want.

Im open minded about Simms coming back but I just don't think we'll offer what Ipswich and Stoke will.

Sooner have the french kid.

I never said it doesn’t happen.

I said if it was known enough for someone to post it on here then the club wouldn’t sit back and let it be and we’d have heard about it.

He hasn’t been offered a contract at Stoke.

Sorry mate but that just isn't how it works. What do you expect the club to do about it? How are they supposed to prove it? Procure all Stewart's phone records from his provider? Take him / Stoke to court? All that will do is massively piss off a player we're trying to persuade to stay. It would take years to get through the courts and prove anything, and then what's the endgame? A tap on the wrist for Stoke and measly fine which they can pay without a second's thought? It's absolutely rife in the game and there's zero point in trying to do anything about it because the costs / time to try to prove it are just not worth it.

I'm just waiting on them signing 3 world class players for say £60 million each then sending out to the stinking mags on loan with them only having to pay a fraction of their wags, so potentially they could have £180 million worth of players that cost them nothing and are only paying the 10 grand a week, that way the Saudis have spent hundreds of millions on transfers and wages yet the mags only she'll out 30 grand a week still giving them plenty cash to invest in more transfers and be well within the fair play rules, I'm sure the Premier league would try to do something to stop it but basically I'm sure they wouldn't be breaking any rules

Believe me, the PL would not try at all. They long since conceded the running of the game to the clubs with the most money.

They wouldn't because we will do the same mate. 90% of transfers now I reckon and the media always report on them too. Things have moved on and no-one complains because they all do it.
