Neves going to Saudi isn't a surprise at all. He went to Wolves in the Championship for £££ when he was like 21 didn't he? He's clearly motivated purely by cash. Which is kinda his prerogative.

The whole Saudi thing is actually really good for Premier League clubs. I genuinely believe that players in their prime would still rather come over to England. But now there is a league that is able to sign all the Premier League misfits.

Its like an insurance policy for EPL clubs. You can sign any old **** for £70m now, knowing that Saudi will come and pay you £50m to take them off you if they don't work out.

Or as a protective layer where any soul less mercenaries will go there instead. If only they’d snatched Jack Rodwell from under our noses! He’d probably be buried under a distant sand dune by now

Quality of opposition isn't great down here and that would drag him down. It would be a big step up for him again playing against the better international sides and I doubt Southgate would take the risk especially at his age.
I’m not sure it would for the short period of time though. The quality of opposition didn’t drag Amad down. Like I say he’s the ultimate professional
Agree that Southgate won’t take the chance mind.

The Saudis who own the Toon apparently part finance the Chelsea owner too, which is dubious as ****.

Chelsea are bending rules there’s 5 of their player going Saudi now which is blatant.

Kante, Mendy, Koulibaly, Ziyech and Auba all supposedly going.

This has to be stopped they are cheating the system, this is opening up hundreds of millions for FFP

Rubberface on RTG seemingly trying to pass off @Forpadydeplasterer 's info as his own regarding the winger in Portugal we are looking at <laugh><laugh><doh><doh>

I would only see this as a positive mate. He seems to get more concrete info than me. I only get told who is on the short list. Some come off, some don't. For example.

I was told we would sign a lad from Everton - Broadhead signed a few hours later.

Jude Soonsup-bell- went to Spurs. Speakman came out and said we were close to signing an academy striker in Jan but he moved elsewhere. There wasn't an awful lot of academy strikers moved in Jan.

Ekwah - think I was the first one to mention him. Signed about 10 days later.

Getting a bit wild this Saudi craic.

I get Ronaldo and Benzema but I don’t get prime players going.

Was great to see Messi go a different way. I know MLS is semi retirement for him but it wasn’t financial, was close to Argentina and something he would still enjoy.

Seeing Neves go there is a real shame. Nobody will ever give a **** about that league.

It's getting interesting. If 6 or 7 Saudi clubs are full of players that are well known then it's very watchable. Of course English fans won't watch it, but that's not their target market. Expanding their Asian and African markets will be their priority.

They could dominate the Asian Champions League and become one of the main 2 or 3 leagues that 5bn people in Asia watch. If they also start throwing a little money around picking up African/Asian/South American talent and spreading the wealth, the by the time it comes to the 2030 World Cup (which will be in Saudi), they'll potentially have successfully washed their image around half of the world (excluding Europe).

Hopefully this Portugal one comes off pal

The PL ship has sailed as well. No chance now. Give it another 12-18 months, a few more payments, and the FA, Premier League and UEFA will wave the ESL through as well.
Let them have it. Then tell the, to stick it when they want to take part in the FA cup, League cup and English leagues. Give them theur one competition a year to get bored of.

be awesome if that actuality happened but the FA and PL simply don’t have the balls

whats the crack with no one smiling in photos these days? Instead it's this Instagram gangster serous mush with either a gang sign, pointing at a mate stood next to them with the same hand they have their alcohpop in or in this case... a ghost.

The lad whos told me, has been spot on the last 2 windows about incomings, no reason to doubt him. We can but dream

Hendo coming back has been rumbling in the background on here from folk in the know for about a year now.

think we all know the only reason the ESL 'failed' was due to the FA not being bribed...errr being brought into the discussion...

when it does get brought in i hope it ends as the one league, no relegations and no local cups and when it eventually loses it's appeal none of the clubs are allowed back into their original leagues, having to start over again at the very bottom using the same finances as those around them.
