Former Sunderland loanee Amad Diallo could return to Italy as part of Manchester United's attempts to sign £86million-rated Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, according to reports.

Manchester United are said to be extremely interested in the striker and could dangle the carrot of Amad returning on loan to former club Atalanta to help push the deal for Hojlund to make make the move to Old Trafford through.

People need to stop wetting the bed and remember that they were on Diallo’s back after a few games because he’d done nout and look how that turned out.

2 young lads who’ve moved to another country and have been battling for a place in the team with Diallo, Roberts and Clarke yet people are writing them off already.

Without game time you can’t prove a thing. Southgate never gave a Grealish a look in even though he looked the best player in the squad by a mile in training and look how he turned out this season.

I think one of our biggest strategies is giving young lads half a season to properly bed in. We need to be patient - there's clearly a plan and I really like it.

I don't think Bennett's will be too g out on loan. It's wrong for him - still getting used to a new country and new language - he needs to be settled. Footballing side I think he's good enough anyway to start getting more integrated into the team. His injury put paid to that.

100%. You can’t write someone off when they’ve not even been given a chance. Look at both Roberts and Clarke before they came to Sunderland, not really given a good run in a team for years and written off by so many when they came here.

How much of an impression are you expected to make when you come off the bench for 20 minutes here or there?

Jewi is left footed, we probably need a right footed player to supplement Clarke

This exactly. Hume signed January 2022 and barely played until 2023 and now he’s a nailed on starter and has a new contract. Players need time. I almost guarantee one of Bennette or Lihadji have a great season

Quick touch to the side, curl it into the bottom right corner. He does a lot more than just that but that's his bread and butter and he does it very well. He's focused on results and that's why he scores so many.

    100% this.

    Lihadji
Roberts (who is brilliant inside as well)
    Jewison

    All left footed

    Clarke only right footed winger.
Someone to compete with/supplement him is important

Tying him down is only beneficial if he's fit, if he signs a new contract then we have Stewart, Semedo and the club will probably bring in 1 other striker possibly a loan, if Stewart isn't fit enough to last the whole season then that will leave us short not knowing how 2 or maybe just 1 new striker will perform.
If the club havnt put contract talks on hold then there is no chance Stewart will sign, because if he hasn't signed with the offer on the table when he's injured then he's not going to sign it when he's fully fit.

This whole conversation started because you said the offer had been taken off the table. Now you're admitting you don't know. I think I'll end this hypothetical there.

Sunderland: 'No limits' to what Black Cats can achieve

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/23597303.sunderland-no-limits-black-cats-can-achieve/

DENNIS Cirkin says there are "no limits" to what Sunderland can achieve and believes everyone associated with the club should be excited about the years ahead.

After signing a new three-year deal, former Tottenham defender Cirkin wants to "reach new heights" on Wearside.

Cirkin helped Sunderland to an impressive top six finish last season and says there's confidence and excitement around the club as to what the future holds. The Black Cats have carried momentum from last season into the summer, making three early signings as well as securing new deals for Cirkin and fellow defender Trai Hume.

"There are no limits to what this team can achieve," said the defender.

"If we keep progressing and keep staying positive, there's no limit. We're very ambitious."

Cirkin has established himself as a favourite and key player in his two years at the Stadium of Light and after helping Sunderland to promotion from League One, played 28 times in the Championship last term, despite having his season disrupted by injuries.

The young full-back had to overcome several injury problems and was also forced to miss a period of the season after suffering concussion when scoring at Millwall, one of his five goals last term.

For all he's enjoyed the highs at Sunderland so far, he says he's learnt an awful lot from his own personal setbacks, and now wants to kick on again in the coming campaign.

"Last season there was a lot of ups and downs for me," he told the club website.

"I think there were a lot of good moments but also some setbacks for me, a lot of injuries. Some were out of my control but it really developed me as a player and as a person as well.

"You have to look at both sides, enjoy the highs - the goals I scored - but also the lows as well and learning from them and developing. I'll take that forward.

"It feels like a long time since I joined. It's been some journey so far but hopefully it continues and there are more highs to come."

Cirkin followed in the footsteps of Trai Hume in signing a new deal and says he's delighted to commit his future to the club.

"It's such a good feeling. I'm really delighted and want to kick on in the new season and push on and reach new heights and new levels," he said.

"I think it's obvious that this is one of the best clubs for youngsters at the moment. We showed that last year.

"Throughout the season we had the youngest group of players. It's a good mix. We have good experienced players who help a lot and a great manager, all credit to him. It's just the best place for my development. I'm really enjoying it, it's perfect for me.

"We got into the play-offs last year, which is incredible when you think about it. It's really exciting for everyone around the club and supporters, we should be excited for what's ahead."

    Nailed it mate.

I don’t think either will be loaned out both will get more minutes and develop here.

Jewi showed flashes of being an absolute weapon, great pace and confidence, and Lihadj won ‘golden boy’ and only a bad injury stopped him going Barca.

These 2 lads are great assets and will be far better for a pre-season and having some time to adjust.

I expect both to make an impact backing up the absolute ballers they are behind in Jacky & Roberts

We have Ba who can cover Jack, and he may well become the absolute star of the show in time.

His ability and potential is frightening if we bring him on right.
