That would be a decent succession plan tbh. The problem comes where a manager feels threatened by the arrival of someone who's there to eventually replace him. Would that bother Mowbray is the big question.

I honestly think Mowbray would love it (but I obviously have never met him :D).

I sense he’d love the ability to help mould a north east lad into a great coach, whilst at the same time getting some leadership to help him with the youngsters

it would never need to be badged as succession planning whilst at the same time could be, loosely

I just hope some fans don't get pissed off and start with the "****ing hell, we cant compete with ****ing Brighton" type of ****.
Realistically we can’t they’re knocking on the door of Europe and have been better than us for years now, it’ll sting when we lose the first one but it’s the only way to sustainably progress, patience is needed which like you say is a worry with the way some fans knee jerk react these days

Big money and big sell on fees if these lads do go. I'd like to see a few of them tell other clubs to **** off and stay here. Next season is going to be class I reckon.
Not comparing like for like but MKD lost in the playoffs last year, lost they're main striker and others and on Sunday will be fighting to avoid relegation.
I'm just saying that there's no guarantee that one great season follows another, hanging into our better players is more important than who we bring in imo.

Huddersfield too, I think we’re a far more attractive option to players than those too though which should in theory make it easier to replace players but as we all know nothing is certain in football!

He would be a good signing like, very high potential and has had good game time this season

Rumours going around that Bellingham is still on the radar -
What’s your thoughts on Bellingham? Only seen him twice and whilst he didn’t look out of place at the level I don’t think he massively stood out

Talented lad, great energy about him and he has the size to become a very good CM. Isnt great positionally but he doesnt go hiding in games, he just needs to improve his movement. Technically looks very sound in possession, needs to add some creativity to his game to kick on but he is only 17

He is a very exciting prospect, Birmingham have a few tbh. He will never get to the standard of his brother but he will still have a very good career imo

I may have posted this before, so apologies if I have. I got talking to a Birmingham scout a while back who told me he didnt know why Bellingham didnt come here as he thought it was happening. Wouldnt be at all surprised if it is back on personally. Same fella told me that Dodds and Speakman are great to work for and really know their stuff.

As an aside I met a coach who watched the older Bellingham come through. He reckons he has never seen a young player have everything in place at such a young age. Complete phenomon apparently.

It’s ****ing awesome that we’ve become THE club that anyone young wanting to play in the top half of the championship and push for a premier league place, wants to be at.

whether it be loans, signings from the epl or signings from abroad. Our reputation is going to proceed us. And for once it’s going to be “THE” place to be

No link to us but screams the type of signing we’d be all over
I know we were after jude soonsup-bell in January and for some reason he went to ****ing spurs instead <laugh>. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see someone like this come in,in the summer.
