Amad has basically been the model for the perfect loan, on both sides of the deal.

For us he's been great and has helped get us points on a regular basis. For them he's had loads of minutes, had freedom to play his own game and has generally been treated with well earned respect. His confidence and teamwork ability have both come along massively.

It bodes well for our future.

I've no idea about the likelihood of this happening but it makes sense.

Elanga has dropped behind Garnacho in the pecking order now and assuming Man Utd sign a striker, Rashford will take that spot. Then there's Sancho who plays both sides and the return of Amad who will be back up to Anthony.

I'm not sure if someone at the lower end of the Prem would take a look at him (or Boro if they go up).

We or championship could still still be a better bet than a side lower end / struggling in the prem, Amads progress has been huge due to the freedom or our side to play, sides lower end of the prem probably dont have freedom to express, sides are either setup not to loose the nick one....or simply not good enough to express themselves.....doesnt mean there bad sides & will go down, i just mean its more difficukt for a flare / talent to develop

I genuinely think a loan from a top side would benefit more from an expectant crowd pushing at the top end of a league below than trying to just stay afloat in the premier league, especially if you want them to come back into a title chasing environment post loan

As others have said teams that play attacking football with a certain style would suit loans from teams at the top end of the prem to develop their players rather than a team looking to grind out results, backs to the wall long ball merchants.

Amads progress here compared to other loans he has had will be a huge positive for us. The lad has gained so much just in terms of confidence and will probably be saying nothing but positive things when he checks in with Man Utd.

Still hard to believe the reputation the club is building! We were the joke club, the basket case, the piss take, holiday/retirement club for a long time and this current regime is polar opposite.

Aye he really does, his positional play out of possession needs to improve but that's normally the last thing for young cms to learn.

Theres a lot of interest in him, the team i scout for are watching him very closely

There was a bit on the end of TM’s press conference about transfers (bottom of page 1 on the match thread). Dodds is on a different continent for this week and next - I think it’s been mentioned on this thread that he is in South America.

Talked about looking for top goal scorers and how a Champions League one like Haaland will cost £100 million and a top player in the National League will cost £100,000. He said earlier in the press conference how we have especially missed a goal scorer in the home matches - someone who steps on the field at the start of the season thinking about scoring 20 goals.

Macaulay Langstaff has got 41 for North County this season and is only 26. Obviously it would be a massive step up but he knows where the goal is.

No idea what type of player he is but someone will be taking a punt on him and he won’t cost much in transfer or wages.

South American leagues have only just started recently, Brazil starts this weekend for example. Must be some gems over there although work permits may be an issue

Good shout. 41 goals and none of them penalties, apparently.

Vardy is the first name to spring to mind for recent non-league successes. It looks like he was 25 when Leicester signed him. Pace is the big thing that would give Langstaff a chance - is he fast, I wonder?

I suppose it depends on how Huggins fitness...or lack of... is viewed. It's not a position we need to fill if he overcomes his injury problems.

I like Huggins, but I’m just not confident the lad will ever be fit and have a long stint in the team.

would love to be proven wrong, but I am thankful we have Hume.

It’s going to be another interesting summer and I’m intrigued to see how the positives and negatives of this season influence the transfer strategy.

The squad, and young lads particularly, will have benefited and developed significantly as a result of this season. I’d still like a couple more experienced or more developed players in as well a continued investment in youth.

I’d take Lucas Joao as an experienced striker option on a free. He’s hardly played for Reading this season but that’s due to Ince playing long balls to Carroll. I think he would be a good solid back up and alternative to Stewart so we can invest our budget in the most promising young striker option we identify.

If he hadn’t got injured I wouldn’t have renewed Evans contract. That’s where I’d like to see us upgrade with a more developed player to compliment Neil. We have a lot of numbers in central midfield but I’m still not convinced they are the mix we need.

So I doubt Grealish will be joining our squad?

Took Hume ages to get into the side. What a key player he is now. As others have said...he could easily play midfield too.

Don't need him. Clarke is doing just fine. And he's got better hair
