I was told last night - by a mag (probably on a wind up) - that he’d heard from a mate at the AOL (I know I know) that Henderson is down to be our player manager next season and he couldn’t back it at the bookies….Tis silly season already

Have player managers ever been a success? Would absolutely love him back mind but only as a player for now

Our current management are far too intelligent to entertain that idea.!

Be lots of them stories about our current lads I feel! Clarke is my biggest worry if we don’t go up he’s Taylor made to step up imo
Keeping hold of some of these lads will be just as important as the ones we bring in. Ballard is another one, yes he has inly had one season with us but he was Millwalls player of the season when he was there so he has 2 good seasons of Championship footy under his belt and could step into a side like Brentford and head back down south.

I think Brentford and possibly Brighton will be the 2 paying attention to our lads

would like to see us go back in for van hecke at Brighton too, on a perm he would be a great signing

I just hope some fans don't get pissed off and start with the "****ing hell, we cant compete with ****ing Brighton" type of ****.

My big hope for the summer is we keep everyone we want to keep. These young lads make for a really exciting style and great commitment. I trust the club on incomings, and I hope they are sensible on outgoings.

Big money and big sell on fees if these lads do go. I'd like to see a few of them tell other clubs to **** off and stay here. Next season is going to be class I reckon.

Henderson as player coach (rather than manager) would work but like I said previously I just can’t see it.

That would be a decent succession plan tbh. The problem comes where a manager feels threatened by the arrival of someone who's there to eventually replace him. Would that bother Mowbray is the big question.

Yeh we will definitely be selling a couple of players this summer we’d rather not lose.

The real test of the board will be in ensuring we don’t lose all of them, and that those we do lose are replaced properly.

As an example Amad is definitely going. But if we can convince Utd to send us Elanga for example instead (and why wouldn’t they) - it softens if.

Let’s say Ballard goes but we get that van Hecke lad instead.

Neil goes but we pull the Henderson miracle out of the hat.

Clarke goes and we get the next big PL2 winger we’ve not heard of.

I have every confidence in this recruitment team. But likewise I’m very conscious that I think a lot of our success this season has been due to the consistency between last seasons squad and this seasons. It’s imperative that we keep the vast majority, even if it’s also realistic that we should look to cash in on a couple
