I just assumed you were pissed last night but clearly not. You didn’t answer anything, you just went on a rant quoting my original comment in bold and assuming I’d asked for Clarke to be dropped without me actually saying Clarke should be dropped - which is absolutely ridiculous he’s one of if not the best winger in the league.

Clarke was quality last season so he’s the golden boy, the fact you’ve had a meltdown because I mentioned that kind of proves the point. He’s exempt from criticism from large sections of our fans. He was garbage against Ipswich and not a single person pointed the finger at him, it was Hemir because he’s the east target.

He will have a bad spell eventually as all footballers do; BUT he’s more than proved that he deserves to stay in the team and rectify his form, which is fine but where does that leave the likes of Ba? He’s not just meant to be a backup winger who comes in when Clarke has a knock we signed him because he’s meant to have bags of talent and we can’t even give him a start. What he shows in training doesn’t really count for much and won’t warrant a start, Grealish looked head and shoulders above everyone in the England camp during the winter World Cup and barely got a look in.

Nobody knows how good he is or if he’s better than what we have because he’s never been given a chance. Remember how many folk were calling Diallo ****e after a few games of coming off the bench and they all sharp changed their tune on that once he’d been given a run of games.

That’s the point I’m trying to make - Not “let’s drop our best players to see what else we have because they might be better.”

Stopped reading right there ...

... that's another 20 minutes of your life you've wasted.

You literally made a sarcastic calling of Clarke s a “golden boy”. There is no other way that was meant. Which, as I said, insinuates you think Ba, who has shown a few minor glimpses but nothing more, should replace him.

You can blame us all you want for adding it up wrong, but if you hadn’t put the wrong number up in the first place, we’d have found it much easier

This is an online forum to talk about football mate.. if I wanted to say I want Ba to play over Clarke I would’ve said it :emoticon-0148-yes:

Not sure I said he would, and if it sounded like that was the implication I apologise. Just think it's going to be interesting to hear an update because it's been absolute radio silence in the few days - no even an online rumour from a wannabe ITK. Absolutely nowt. If nothing happens today, got to assume it's Dack up front again on Sat - whilst I appreciate the long term, strategy, we are potentially sacrificing the first 10 games of the season in the hope Stewart comes back as good as new

sorry that was me mis-reading you rather than you being unclear. I agree with you.

Just gotta say, I never took from anyone’s comment they were suggesting we dropped Jacky like.

Still didn’t get what the main point was re Ba mind. I’m a big fan of Ba but it’s for him to find his best position and earn a run.
I think he’ll end up a box to box central /attacking midfielder he just doesn’t have the bulk or positioning or experience yet.

It was the Dobson comment :emoticon-0127-lipss

The statement was that Ba shouldn't be on the bench because he's too good and golden boy Clarke won't be dropped.

So if you don't put Ba on the bench, who should it be ...

... presumably someone not as good as Ba who'll put no pressure on the starting players.

And where's the sense in that.

I didn’t mean because he shouldn’t be on the bench he should be replacing Clarke, it was directed at him not developing whatsoever because he’s sat on the bench. If we go and get another 19/20 year old striker that’ll be 3 of them we have sat on the bench behind Stewart. How do they improve unless we loan them out?

Especially now with Jobe coming in it feels like the club are signing players because they see a future opportunity to make money on high potential players, which again is fine, within reason but we’re neglecting other positions that we need to improve now. That’s how the debate started, debating what kind of players we need to bring in - it wasn’t me slinging **** at Jack Clarke by any means by calling him the golden boy it just means he’s the star of the team :emoticon-0102-bigsm

My understanding of TM's comments was we will have a striker in and have 3 says to work with him before Coventry game, if he signs or announced first thing then that would be 3 days. Keep the faith in the club, they have shown us they are quite shrewd in the market.

So what are you suggesting we do with Ba.

I wouldn’t wanna see Ba away on loan Mind I’ve already seen enough to say he be pushing for games here soon.

Seen some criticism of some of his cameos but again that’s the game time thing, game time will come over 46 game season for sure.

Only value I could see in a loan would be within this league but that’s gonna be a club with lower expectation. He’s too advanced for League One and I actually think that would be insulting to him.

Can we get back on topic lads, I’ve just gone through about 5 pages and nobody is talking about transfers.

I get it’s easy to go off topic, but move to another thread if you want that discussion, and let’s keep this one about potential incomings and outgoings.

Isn't that because there aren't any.

The current discussion is transfer related to be fair ...

... a question of who we bring in and how it affects the squad regarding loans/transfers in and out.

I think the truth of it all is that it's gonna be a long hard season and I think most of the players will get their chance. Mowbray gave quite a few the chance to impress against Hartlepool and I think he felt let down by some of the performances. That being said every team has players who need to be ready and Ba is one of them. Age does not really count as the argument would be that you have paid for a midfielder and just stuck him on the bench. Hemir will get minutes, Ba will get minutes and so on.
This season I think we will see a bit more rotation than last season as we now have better options and hopefully less injuries.
