fwiw 5'3 is much preferable to 5'6 for a player like him. low centre of gravity and sneaking through gaps. Its not like if he was 5'6 he'd be a threat in the air. so if he's small he might as well be tiny and quick.
Speakman described it as a very positive deal for the club. I would be surprised if Lihadji was on big money with us, certainly not the sort of wage that creates immediate opportunities in the market. Far more likely we got a fee, bearing in mind it is Qatar he has gone to, and that is paid all up front. Might not be £3.5m but to me at least it is more plausible we got a couple of million or so than a problem wage off the books.Well considering he was let go to free wages, I don't think there was a big fee involved.
But I'm sure someone will point out we supposedly got £3. 5 million for him.
We didn't.
Just on that rant about getting a good CB and CDM in to stabilise the spine of the team, tell you who looked quality and ran the show against us yet isn’t really anything special or out of our reach.. (not to say that he’d come here now)
Sam Morsy.

Think Nixon reported leeds were after him today, good playerLewis O’Brien would be my pick on loan from Forrest
Yeah think they wanted him when he was at Huddersfield too so would make senseThink Nixon reported leeds were after him today, good player

Some very odd signings at Forest last year. Not too sure how easy any deal would be with their owner having Olympiacis, and seemingly after an Italian side. Looks a bit like Watford from the outside. Not convinced they are building on strong foundations and not sure many of their players would fit our personality.I would be looking at players from Forest maybe on loan. They bought loads last summer and have bought again this, there must be players there just sitting around on contracts that would get a game here
Agents aren't always known to be truthful, a lot of the time they talk rubbishNot guesswork mate I was told by a VERY creditable agent.
George Dobson.Forgive me it’s probs a stupid question but who on earth is Dobson!?
Ba has no chance of starting over Clarke. Clarke is the golden boy and without a run of games Ba can’t prove how good he is so it’s a non-starter because he’ll never be given that chance.
Clarke was the same at Stoke, playing off the bench most of the time and I’m not sure he even had a single goal involvement he was useless. They need regular game time to show what they’re about and gain some confidence, coming off the bench for 10-15 mins here or there rarely does that.
They have a reputation for sure. To be fair though there are good ones, and it is not as iffy as maybe it once was. I have said before about my mate on that side of things. He never talks about specifics mind, wont tell me anything like wages or tfr fees, although to be fair ai never ask. Wont even give up any players he works with or links. He is very discrete. My wife asked him, when she first met him properly, "what exactly is it you do", as he gave me some bits and pieces from players even she recognised. Without any edge he just said "try to help out football clubs and players". Does give me a general sense of how we operate and how well, or otherwise, we are perceived in his world. His name isnt a media name at all, but judging by the stuff he gets for me from really top players, he has good contacts at the very least. I would say if Bob has a decent relationship with an agent there is little value for an agent spinning a yarn to him. Particularly after the deal is over. Not to say the agent is on the inside of it mind, we all know how chinese whispers work, and it would not surprise me 1 bit if agents on different teams told each other all sorts of fibs.Agents aren't always known to be truthful, a lot of the time they talk rubbish

Which is great. And what if Clarke gets injured. Ba's in there and with a run of decent performances he may be the one difficult to drop.Exactly.
The whole point of a squad, with double/treble the players in one position is that it's puts pressure on people.
Having the likes of Pritchard, Gooch, Ba, on the bench makes Neil, Jobe, Bellingham, Clarke, etc, work hard to keep their place.
But everyone has the chance to stake a claim for a place, and those on the bench need to work just as hard.
Means nothing. Loads of players are going to be following us now just because we're greatLameck Banda a left winger for Serie A club Lecce and the Zambia national team is following Sunderland on Instagram
This is exactly how every squad should be. Very few should be guaranteed a game. A dip in form for 3 games and somebody should be in with a chance to keep their place. I honestly think this is where we are trying to get to, and I think Mowbray will change it when needed. At the minute we probably have a couple of positions, which we all recognise, where the challenge isnt strong enough, but Harvey and co will know that better than us. Any honest player will tell you there level goes up when their position is under threat.Exactly.
