You're a scout !!... Stevie Wonder could see the kid is not ready for 1st team action yet. I cannot believe he was bought with the view to thrust him in straight away. He lacked so much you would expect from a centre forward, but yes, the kid may well come good, I certainly am not judging him on one game, but I am judging our recruitment team for not helping TM start the season with a striker who is ready to go.
Well said

Whilst I agree Hemir looked a bit caught out by it, I also didn’t think he looked as far off as some are making out.

There was one first half he ran after and nicked the ball, he will learn to use his size. He has come from a far more technical and less physical league and will quickly get used to it.

That only happens with game time. Lad has shown pre season he will take chances when they come.

Seen people sparing Jobe for missing as well, just seen a replay for first time there and ball came at him like a rocket. Having heard the Sky commentary on it it’s clear these folk were watching on TV and took that.

Commentator says ‘he could have took a touch there’, could he ****.

First goal is a freak second is a mess (great finish mind)

get Rusyn, Abline, Dagba and a centre mid in and we'll have a very very good side. KTF.
Sounds like its too late already, some seem to be writing off the season already

I honestly wish recruitment was as easy as folk are making out on here. Been involved in it for 3 seasons now and its so hard but according to folk on here its easy

But you are judging him on 1 game, if he played well yesterday you wouldnt be saying he wasnt ready would you? Folk were praising the lad last sat in the friendly

Mate we played Danny Ballard as a striker yday. What more evidence to you need?

Positive starts are vital to build confidence.
Stop twisting to suit your narrative. We chucked a big defender to cause a bit of chaos. It happens. We are short of a striker and its ****ing frustrating but this is the first full window they've had to address the problem. It's clearly not a straightforward process.

It's not but that's why they get paid the big bucks to make it work. When other clubs are doing it, then it shows it's possible. We need to re prioritize, less young wonder kid wingers and some actual quality who are ready for the here and now. The model has to flex.

I ain't changing narrative it's a clear example and the impact that the recruitment is having. Tone is a patient man but he is getting to the end of his fuse now.

Folk were saying he was great after Mallorca. I thought he was crap yesterday and looked out of his depth and they contained him easily. But let's not write him off just yet. It's not easy making your competitive debut in front of 43k, especially for a striker. He could be a different animal in six weeks

I really am not judging him on one game...thats your interpretation... When he was brought in TM pretty much said he was one for the future and even mentioned the kid was staggered how much running he had to do in pre season. He is simply NOT ready. He has raw talent, but this is a relentless division with seasoned hard nosed defenders and this lad needs games like tomorrow night to be brought up to speed. Again....my issue is with the recruitment team. You say its not easy to bring players in, I would agree with that.....But....We have needed a proper striker ( not a trainee) since early January. That is indefensible

Yeah spot on.

The season isnt won or lost in august, 2 teams that were in the relegation zone at the end of august last yr made the playoffs
Agreed, but in a competitive league we can't afford to start slowly. A lack of options up front cost us 3 pts yesterday. Preston won't be easy on Sat either.

It's a predictable reaction to an opening day defeat at home. The time to call this will be at the end of the window when we see what the squad looks like. We could look at a positive from yesterday and say it's obvious where we need to add, which I'm sure won't be lost on them.

We had the same issue a few windows back when we had no full backs and they got Cirkin and everything was fine. Let's judge them at end of window.

TM has done that with lots of players, it takes the pressure of the lad. If he played well yesterday n acored you wouldnt be saying hes not ready, its as simple as that. Fair enough he didnt but its 1 game therefore im not judging him on one game

Exactly recruitment isnt easy but the way some of you are going on it should be really easy.

The club 1 scout for has sold 15 million pounds worth of players, play in europe but yet still havent been able to replace the 2 lads that left. We have spoken to so many clubs, agents n players but nothing has fallen for us - its not through a lack of trying or planning, its just tye transfer market. Its tough

Are we not allowed to be concerned? Are we not allowed to be frustrated by yesterday? Signing strikers is hard, but it also seems to be a weakness in our recruitment team. Just because there are 3 weeks left in the window, it doesn't guarantee we will sign the players we need. There is no harm at all in showing concern that is fact -based
