I just can't help being disgusted by this. And it is not just because it involves us. This depraved behaviour is being repeated regularly, and by the same rapacious clubs.
What sort of game is it, what sort of system is it, that allows a young lad to be taken from his school, essentially taken from his home, taken from his club, taken from his friends, "just in case" he is going to make a good player?
And however good this young lad is, no-one knows at that age, and we all know which way the odds are stacked.

It is borderline abuse IMO. Really unforgiveable, and it is easy to see why certain clubs now will not sign any player under 18, when they can sign proper contracts. More will follow I have no doubt, and opportunities will shrink for young players as the net will have more holes in it. Then these same, self regarding and arrogant clubs will just steal more players from those who still produce them.
It is a vicious circle and cannot be fixed without wholesale reform, but as we all know, all changes are made to suit the clubs doing the damage.
The game is heading down the sewer if this is not stopped.
Yep. He's probably burned well over a million by sitting on a contract offer. That takes a lot of making up.
